And so the two cousins waited by both entrances for about an hour before half of the guests had arrived. Things couldn't get more boring or hectic from this point, right?

The evening could in fact get extremely boring. (Y/N) kept holding fake smiles through each greeting, trying to hide the fact that she didn't know half of the adults that were walking in since they were either business associates, friends of the family, distant relatives, or friends from her parents.
"Why can't I have the more interesting guests than the boring business men and associates?" thought (Y/N) to herself as people were cleaning themselves from the dust.
"Not all of us are boring." said a voice from behind her. Looking behind her, (Y/N) finally noticed who said this. It was a girl with green eyes and wavy brown hair. She was wearing a velvet red dress, and wore a flower crown on top of her head.
"Hannah, I didn't realize you were invited!" said (Y/N) shocked at the girl.
"My parents were invited, so I went because I wouldn't want to be sitting all alone in a hotel room with cider in one hand, and remote in the other." explained Hannah.
"Well at least you can go celebrate with some of the people here, I have to finish checking in people." said (Y/N), tapping with her pen on the piece of paper where guests signed in.
"I can stay with you if you'd like." offered Hannah.
"But I rather you be out there having a good time instead of dealing with the dust and ash." said (Y/N) leaning against the wall.
"Well I just wanted to stay here, plus we have some catching up to do, remember?" said Hannah, referring back to how the two had shared a few words at their first game against each other.
"Well alright then, and yes I do believe we need some catching up to do." responded (Y/N) giving in to the other girl staying with her while she finished checking in the last guests on her list.
Walking out by herself from the room that contained a chimney, (Y/N) sat on the stairs. Who knew that wearing the flats (Y/N) chose to wear before she left her room, would be uncomfortable for an hour. Inhaling (Y/N) was about to stand before she saw Niki walk by.
"(N/N)! There you are, I've been looking all over for you! Where were you?" exclaimed Niki, as she came over to where the girl was sitting.
"Checking in guests, talking with Hannah since she decided to keep me company, and Wilbur was doing the same, but most likely forgot that I was checking in people when he finished, so he's at the party now?" said (Y/N).
"Yeah, I wanted to get you for dinner." said Niki, feeling bad for her friend.
"Thank you, your a lifesaver. Let me just fix my makeup." said (Y/N) standing up to head up stairs.
"I'll come with you. I feel like you need the company." said Niki, hoisting the girl up.
"Thanks." said (Y/N) before they walked up the stair case. As the two walked up stairs, Niki looked troubled with something.
"You alright?" asked (Y/N).
"(Y/N) you know you can tell me anything right? I've been your best friend for years now." said Niki.
"Yes I know that." said (Y/N), laughing slightly.
"I need you to be serious (Y/N)." said Niki.
"Alright I'm listening." said (Y/N), looking at her friend concerned.
