It was five thirty in the morning when (Y/N) felt the cold air nipping at her feet. Shivering in her sleep, the tired girl pulled for her cozy blanket. Feeling for the blanket, she realized it must have fell. Groaning with annoyance, the girl stumbled to get it, and then proceeded to go back to sleep, but someone beat her to going to sleep. Feeling a tap on her shoulder, (Y/N) turned to see Cara, who looked as tired as her, in some leggings, a jersey, and a sweatshirt. Cara had her hair in a low ponytail, and she was giving the girl a small, tired smile.
"Good morning sleepyhead, we've got practice." said Cara, making (Y/N) groan with annoyance. How could she forget that Phil sent a message to the main players for Gryffindor that they would have a six thirty practice a day before classes started.
"Don't remind me." said (Y/N), putting the pillow over her head.
"(N/N), you know Phil needs you today. I know you don't want to wake up, but you might see Jack this morning." said Cara, making the other girl jump up, and scramble for her workout clothes that were warm.
"I'm up! I'm up!" yelped (Y/N), running to the small bathroom that was connected to the dormitory, leaving her friend stifling her laughs as she got on her shoes and broom. Nobody but Cara had discovered that (Y/N) and Jack had a sort of thing happening, even their nosy roommates or friends knew nothing of this. It sure was going to be hard hiding it from them now since they were back at Hogwarts. Running out, and doing a pair of Dutch braids for hair, (Y/N) started looking for her broom. Finishing the braids, and grabbing the broom, (Y/N) got a small bag, throwing in water bottle, hair ties, extra clothes, deodorant, and another pair of shoes.
"Took you long enough." joked Cara.
"Well Puffy, if you must know this attitude and doesn't come from nowhere." said (Y/N), as the two left the dormitory, leaving their sleeping roommates behind.
"Hey, y'know I don't like being called that!" exclaimed Cara, playfully hitting her friend in the arm.
"How come Josh calls you that?" asked (Y/N), making the other girl blush.
"That's different (N/N)." said Cara.
"Fine, fine, I'll leave my teasing for another day!" said (Y/N), as the two headed out of the tower.
"Damn, I left my jumper up in the dormitory!" exclaimed (Y/N), not finding any jacket or anything relatively warm in her bag.
"You can't go back now, we're about to start practice! Just move your body so it warms up." said Shelby, grabbing her water bottle.
"But Shubble!" complained (Y/N).
"No but's (N/N). You knew we had practice and you didn't get your jacket, now you price!" said Shelby, laughing a little at the girl. Groaning with annoyance, (Y/N) walked out of the locker room, bottle and broom in hand, grumbling to herself the entire time about how dumb she was to forget her jacket. Walking onto the cold floor of the arena, (Y/N) put her water bottle of the bench and stood on the field, wanting to start practice.
"Morning (Y/N)! You look to be in a cheery mood!" said Sapnap, putting his arm around the girl, making her lose her balance unstable.
"Yeah...cheery." spoke (Y/N), clearly annoyed at how Sapnap knew she was cold.
"So I can assume you left your jacket at your room." said Sapnap, moving his arm off the girl.
"Yeah, and I'd prefer not to talk about it." said the girl, before Phil came over and everyone started warm ups and practice. Sometime during practice, one individual did notice (Y/N) shivering from the cold.
It must have been at least eight thirty or eight forty five in the morning when practice finished. Warm showers were being taken in both boys and girls locker rooms where everyone was taking in the steam and heat of the showers. Changing into the seat of clothes (Y/N) had brought with her, there was still no sign of any jumper. Groaning with disappointment, the girl put on her long sleeve, and leggings over her undergarments, and putting on warm socks. Getting on the boots, (Y/N) borrowed Cara's hair brush to brush out her hair. Asking Shubble for help, (Y/N) asked for a small charm to dry out her hair, and to warm her body a little before she walked out the locker room. Walking with damp hair, (Y/N) shivered as she walked down the cold hallway. Making her way out of the hallway, (Y/N) is greeted with a gust of freezing, cold wind. Hearing a door behind her open and close, the girl hears footsteps behind her.
"That's it. I'm tired of seeing you torture yourself and not using your wand to summon a jumper from your dorm." said a boy behind her.
"Jack, I can't. My wand is in my dorm." said the girl, walking ahead.
"Then at least take my spare jumper." said Jack, getting out the jumper.
"Jack please, you don't have to do this. I'm fine!" said (Y/N), pushing his arms back.
"Stop being stubborn (N/N). I hate to see it when your cold." said Jack. Suddenly flashbacks of New Years hit (Y/N) hard, making the girl blush slightly.
"Fine. I'm only doing this for you since thought of it as something nice. Not the fact that I'm stubborn and you have a habit of giving me your coats and jumpers." said (Y/N) taking the warm jumper and putting it over her head. Feeling a comforting sense wash over her body, (Y/N) walked with Jack.
"So you enjoyed this morning's practice?" asked (Y/N).
"Yeah, but I have a strong hatred towards morning practices." said Jack.
"Did you here how now they are finally allowing the Hogsmeade trips to be a weekly thing as of the third week of this month?" said (Y/N).
"Yeah; y'know I've been thinking..." said Jack.
"About what?" asked (Y/N).
"What is this thing between you and me?" asked he, clearly taking the talk to a very different and serious topic. Stopping for a moment, (Y/N) seemed puzzled.
"Well, it's definitely more than friends at this point. I don't mind really if we were to get into some relationship." said (Y/N), shrugging her shoulders slightly.
"Right, well I just want to try something, and maybe something good will come from it. Come with me this upcoming Saturday to Hogsmeade." said Jack. Stepping away from Jack, (Y/N) looked down at the floor.
"Are you asking me on a date?" asked (Y/N), smiling to herself.
"Well I guess I am..." said he, taking a step forward towards the girl.
"Then yes. I'll go with you. But next time you want to ask me out or ask a girl on a date bring her some flowers or something romantic." teased (Y/N), making the two laugh.
"I'll keep that in mind (N/N)." said Jack.
