Eula: "Hmm, it seems you are quite skilled in the kitchen after all. That meal was most satisfactory indeed."

Y/N: "Heh, should I be offended that you sound so surprised of my apparent competency?"

Eula: "Please, there is no need to be pedantic. I just mean to say that, well... that dish would have fit in just fine at a noble banquet."

Y/N: "Hmm? Really? You're not just saying that, are you...?"

Eula: "I mean what I say. Those 'Golden Shrimp Balls' that you made, not only do they have the name and appearance of much of the cuisine one would find at such an event. But the taste was more than adequate also."

Y/N: "Oh, well I appreciate the compliments then!"

Eula: "Hmm... please, allow me to clean up what remains of the dishes whilst you prepare for the next activity."

Y/N: "The next activity? What do you mean by that...?"

Eula: "You have forgotten already? But was it not you that offered to give me and my aching muscles comfort nought but a short while ago?"

Y/N: "o–Oh! Yeah, sorry! I did say that, didn't I? Let me just uhm... prepare the seating area then."

Leaving Eula to wash what remained of the dishes we had just been eating from, I walked towards the seating of Eula's living room... well, I guess it's our living room now, right? Seeing as she offered to share her faculties with me.

I took note of the various cushions that adorned the seats... none of them looked like the sort that Eula would be okay with me putting on the floor for her to sit on – they all looked too fancy to be treated like that. But, ideally, I need to be able to seat Eula at a level lower than myself so that I can do this backrub she wants properly.

I suppose I could just stand behind the seat and have her lean forwards a little so I could reach her like that? Yeah, that's probably the safest option I have to avoid any scolding from my new roommate!

Eula: "Oh yes, I forgot to mention, the stool you're looking for is in that cabinet over there. I store it away when I do not have need of it... it'll probably need to be adequately dusted also."

Y/N: "You'll be okay sitting on a stool for this? But I thought—"

Eula: "I will be fine. I will not have need to lean my back into anything, what with you needing access to my back. So a stool will be ideal for such a situation. No?"

Y/N: "Well, if you have no complaints then... I guess we'll go with that plan."

I then head towards the cabinet that Eula had pointed out to me and open it up. Inside there are several items that seem to be reserved for gatherings: tea trays, large serving plates and extra seating... all covered in a rather thick layer of dust. I suppose she gave up on the idea of hosting parties and other large gatherings here in her home then... that's depressing to think about.

Maybe that's something I can try to amend in the future, when I'm more acclimated with this city and its people?

But for now, I should just take out this stool and give it a good dusting before I present it to Eula... I could also give these neglected items a good cleaning sometime later this week too, I imagine I will have quite a bit of spare time on my hands now that I have a roof over my head and reliable access to food and water.

A couple of minutes later and I had finished cleaning the stool that Eula intended to sit on, and I had placed it close in front of one of the seats in the living room. Close enough that I would easily be within arm's reach, but far enough away that I would have room for my legs to sit comfortably in-between seat and stool.
