It had been a couple of weeks now, since the Weinlesefest Festival, and things had been exceedingly busy. At first, it was the case of dismantling the festival stalls and decorations, and then the escorting of travellers and businesses who had arrived for the event.
Whilst not actually integrated into the Reconnaissance Company just yet, Acting Grand Master Jean allowed for Eula to give me orders as if I was. And as such, the Reconnaissance Company's Captain had me escorting several convoys of traders out of Mondstadt. And although there were quite a lot of them that were heading towards Liyue, I noticed that Eula only had me accompany traders that were heading elsewhere: be it Sumeru, Inazuma or Fontaine.
Fortunately, our role of escorting these cargo convoys only lasted until they reached the borders of Mondstadt. So I was able to leave the traders at Stone Gate to be escorted by Millelith or hireable guards from then on within Liyue. I'm not sure I'm quite ready to be back in Liyue, not just yet at least... maybe in a couple of years or so, when the hatred for my past has died down somewhat...
I believe the reason I wasn't officially anointed into Eula's Company was mostly due to scheduling issues. As the Knights may have had their hands full in guarding the lands during the festival, but it was even more time-intensive making sure that everybody was able to leave the nation safely after the festival's end. And apparently I require some onboarding before I can join in the company officially, and even though there are other's within the company that are capable of this procedure... I was made aware by the Acting Grand Master of the fact that Eula had announced to Jean that she will be the one to personally onboard me, supposedly so that "she can know that it was done properly, to the standard that she sets upon herself" – as Jean had put it.
So, whilst I might not have been officially within the Reconnaissance Company just yet, I was still being given things to do by Eula, of which she would give me a small piece of paper every morning whilst we had breakfast together, the paper in question had very neat handwriting, and it was very concise in what was wanted and expected of me... and yet it was written in quite a kind way... as if it was just gently requesting for me to do these things? Is that how she gives out orders to her Company? Somehow, I can't see that being the case! So I guess... I guess it's just for me then...?
Amber: "Helloooooo? Anybody hoooooome?"
Y/N: "Hm? Oh! Sorry! I was just... well, lost in thought I guess!"
Amber: "You're not thinking about anything sad again, are you? I've gotten orders to make sure you don't after all!"
Y/N: "You've gotten orders to stop me from thinking about sad things...? Wait. So that was something Jean asked for...?"
Amber: "Oh! No, no! It's not a duty of mine as a Knight! It was just something that... well... s–someone asked me to do for them. Yep! Just a somebody!"
Y/N: "... Eula?"
Amber: "n–Nooooooooo...? It was... uhmm... well... huh. You need to meet more people in Mondstadt! You've been keeping to too small of a circle!"
Y/N: "Meet more people? Do I... Do you really think I have to do that?"
Amber: "Hmm..."
Y/N: "Amber? I don't like that look in your eyes! What are you plotting?!"
Amber: "Hehe! You'll just have to find out! But come on, let's jump already! The wind feels perfect!"
Not even giving me a chance to rebuttal this, Amber had already sprinted off the edge of the cliff and leapt away from the land and into the sky, pulling open her wind glider and soaring away. Not wanting to be left too far behind, you quickly followed her lead and leapt off the cliff too.
