It was very late into the night, with the moon hidden entirely behind dark and stormy clouds that threatened to release rain and thunder at any moment. The landscape of Mondstadt was all but a pitch blackness, with only the odd torch's flame visible illuminating small puddles of space.
But these were the perfect conditions.
Or more specifically, these were the perfect conditions for the mission currently at hand, with our party of two sneaking around behind rock and tree, delving through bushes and tall grasses so as to avoid detection until we were ready to strike. All that I could see of my companion in this night time venture was the subtle glow of her Vision adorned to her clothes, and usually only when she would turn around to quietly utter my new orders, like she was doing again now...
Eula: "This way now, behind those tents. Keep close, and keep your head down."
Y/N: "Got it. I'm following your lead."
She didn't need to tell me to keep my head down, because I definitely didn't want it getting sniped off by any of the guardsman on duty, but also... well, with us both so low to the ground to minimise our profiles, her backside is far more on display than it usually is... and with how dark it is, I'd hate for it to seem like I'm ogling her when in reality I'm just looking for the silhouette of Eula to follow.
No, instead I stuck to keeping my head down as much as possible, choosing to keep my eyes set upon the bottom of Eula's boots to keep track of where she is. All of a sudden, her boots had come to a sudden stop and I quickly did the same, I then looked up towards the face of the woman who I knew would now be looking at me ready to give her next whispered orders...
Eula: "Alright... We wait here. This is our best point of attack, we just need the right timing..."
Y/N: "When we see the arrow, right?"
Eula: "When we see the arrow. You remember the plan of attack, I presume?"
Y/N: "I take the bigger guys, and keep them busy whilst you deal with the small fry."
Eula: "Right. Now, make sure to do your job right. We're relying on you, and I will not have this operation's success sullied by the new recruit."
Y/N: "I got it, I got it! I won't let you down!"
Eula: "Mhm. Quiet now, just wait for the signal..."
A couple minutes then passed us by, with the two of us remaining entirely silent as we hid ourselves behind one of the large tents of our targets. Simultaneously we kept an eye on the sky for the signal whilst also watching the many targets as they patrolled the area, being sure to keep note of any that might spoil our ambush with their weird movements.
Those couple minutes may have, in all actuality, only been a short while. But to me, it felt like the longest of time... to have to sit there and just observe whilst we awaited the signal that—
*PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW!*
All of a sudden, a bright light shot straight upwards. It looked to be a fireball, but we knew differently, we knew that this was Outrider Amber who had finally seen the perfect moment that we were waiting for — to which she then fired a Pyro-infused arrow right up into the sky to act as a signal flare for us!
Eula: "Now!"
Y/N: "Got it!"
