Chapter 30-Spring love

It was finally spring break and all I had planned to do was sit in my room and do absolutely nothing! I mean if something did end up happening, I wouldn't mind being able to do something. I was just sitting minding my own business when I heard a soft knock on the door. I got up from my bed and opened the door: it was Milinda! "Oh, hey bestie! Haven't seen you in a hot second, what do you need?" Milinda sat there for a second twiddling her fingers and then said, "Um I need some advice...like dating advice?" Me being an Aro/ace I imminently said "Oh, that's more of Scarlets thing-"

"DID SOMEONE SAY DATING ADVICE?!" I jumped as I heard Scarlet bust the door to her room open. "JESUS CHRIST!" I jumped "my god what is up with you and kicking down doors?" I asked jokingly "eh doors are complicated. You know what isn't though?" Me and Milinda sat there confused. "DATING!" Scarlet went to Milinda and put her hand on Milinda's shoulder. "Look I've been through COUNTLESS relationships. Some my mom set up and others I wanted to be in. If you need help getting someone, I GOT YOU!" Scarlet backed away a bit then said "So, who's the target?"

We arrived at the library and saw no one in there except someone in a light brown shirt with flared out jeans, putting books back on shelves. "Them, they're the one I know it." Milinda said pointing at them "Oh you like Addy?" Scarlet responded. Milinda kept looking at them "So that's their name" she said letting out a sigh. "Yep, Addison Aviana, They/Them pronouns, and an avian that didn't get wings." Scarlet looked down at Milinda swooning over Addy. "So have you even talked to them yet?"

"Nope, I have a few classes with them though, they're really smart, I know that, they also don't talk that much, unlike other people in my classes." Scarlet cracked her knuckles after Milinda stopped talking. "Alright ,now, go talk to them!" Milinda sighed and said "yea... wait, WHAT"

"Yep! All you gotta do is talk to them, It sounds dumb ,but actually works." Milinda was taken a back and said "I-I can't just go and talk to them! They're way too cool! If I do that I-I'll screw it up and then I'll-" Scarlet got down to Milinda's level, put her hand on her shoulder and said "Hey dude, calm down, it's gonna be fine trust me. If you keep on holding off doing what you really want to do, you're never going to do it. It's all because people overthink, I'm not saying you're overthinking is your fault, I'm just saying, if you want to do something, just do it man." Scarlet got up and as she did Milinda took a deep breath and said. "Alright, I'm going to do it. I'll...I'll go talk to them"

We watched from behind a bookshelf as Milinda approached Addison. Milinda looked back at us for reassurance before she said anything. Scarlet gave her a thumb up, and as she did Milinda tapped Addison on the shoulder. "Oh, hey what can I do for you?" Addison asked. "Hey so,um, first off, Addison right?" Milinda asked skittishly. "Yea that's me, wait you're the girl in literally all of my classes aren't you? Milinda right?" Milinda nodded to the question "Oh yea I've actually been wanting to get in touch with you for a while. Your really cute to be honest-"

"Really!? Oh sorry, um, thanks, for the compliment." Milinda responded. Even from behind the bookshelf I could see that they were both blushing ways too much to be normal. "I mean, I think you're kinda cool to be honest." Milinda said "Oh, um, thanks." After Addison said that there was a long moment of awkward silence. Scarlet looked like she was going to explode at any second and the duo was just standing there, looking like they were going to talk then not talking. "So, I heard that the festival was in town this week, you wanna go with me?" Addison asked anxiously. "Um yea I didn't really have anything planned for spring break anyways." Milinda responded hopefully "So it's a date?" There was a long pause after Addison said that. Me and Scarlet thought it was over but just as we were about to pop out and save the situation, Milinda nodded her head and said "Yep! It's a date"
