Chapter 30- Catching Up With Old Friends

After finishing my own little recap of school, Sai was left silent. "Huh well then, I thought that the school here was going to be strict, no breathing loud or laughing!" We both laughed but then I remembered why I came here in the first place. "Oh, shoot I almost forgot! You remembered my werewolf thing, right?"

"Oh yeah, I remembered it all right. You need help with it again?" I got up excited and said "Nope! Watch this-" and I shifted right in front of them. "Hey, you're finally able to control it! I thought it was gonna take WAY longer for you to get the hang of it. I mean it took me forever to just figure out how to control my flowers." I nodded excited and said "It doesn't stop there though! Turns out I have a completely new form now! I mean yeah it has some repercussions but once I get the hang of that I might be able to turn into a full werewolf soon enough-"

"Woah woah slow down their love" Sai cut me off "Look I know you're excited, but I don't think a full shift is a good idea. One, it's dangerous, two, you'll probably hurt your body even more and three, you might lose all your progress you've gotten with Lin and stuff." I shifted back and sat down. "Alright then, I mean you're the one who had to study stuff like this." Even if I couldn't show them the form, I still wanted to show them what could trigger it. "Can I at least show you what I use to trigger the form?" Sai Sighed and said "Alright sure love" I was back excited again and started digging in my bag. I pulled out the switchblade triumphantly "This beautiful baby was made for me by Scarlet. All you have to do is press the jewel and badabing bada-" I pressed the jewel and, this is kinda embarrassing but, I got stabbed with the knife in my hand again. This obviously triggered the new form. "OW GOD DAMMIT!" I said clutching my hand while on the floor. "So, guessing that's your new form? Lemme guess it's 75%, just from the fur patches." I continued to try and stop the bleeding from my hand and said defeated "yep this is it" Sai Sighed once more and said, "alright let's get you patched up, follow me."

After bagging my head on more doorways, and getting my hand bandaged up, Sai told me to go back to the main cafe and wait so I did and just thought. While I did, I wondered what that mind space was whenever I got my werewolf under control. I thought about REALLY hard and saw a few flickers of the space but that was it. From what I saw it looked like it had turned into a forest. The cage was in a clearing, and it was still open, but I saw something, or someone walking towards the cage. It looked like Lin but in MY 75% form. I jumped from the back door closing and Sai coming into the room. "Now THIS is what you need" they tossed me something that looked like a Swiss army knife. "Uh, what is this?" They gestured for me to give it back to them "You don't know what a butterfly knife is?" They flipped the thing, threw it into the air, caught it and now it was a knife. "I know I'm going to sound like a game NPC when I say this but, I'm going to get you a practice knife, you practice with that for a while then come back when you think you're ready for the real deal! Hey, I might even teach you how to knife throw if you're good enough."

I walked the empty sidewalk, listening to the silence of the town at night. This was the most silent I had ever heard in the town. There's always these stories of "monsters coming out to EAT YOUR CHILDREN!" at night but it's actually peaceful. It was a clear night and, since it was a pretty small place in the middle of nowhere, the sky was perfectly clear. The sky was dotted with millions of tiny stars that could form pictures if you stare long enough. I was never really able to see the night sky from the windows of the shop, when I was little but here they were amazing. At this point I had walked into the woods and decided to just sit in a little clearing I found and stare at the stars for a while. It seemed like it was even more quiet in the woods, and that's how I liked it. I could easily spot multiple constellations like the big dipper, Draco, and some that I hadn't even seen before.

I don't know how long I was sitting there but after a while I heard a noise. I eminently jolted up and low and behold it was just a deer. It looked at me for a while and I looked right back at it. Not a single bit of wildlife EVER wanted to get near me, let alone a deer. The deer approached me and nuzzled my hand and next thing you know, I'm petting a deer. I realized that I should probably get back to the school before something bad happened, so I tried to leave. The deer, on the other hand, had a different plan. Instead of running off it decided to follow me, all the way to the school! I tried to shoo it off multiple times, but it was like it was waiting for something to happen. I got to the front gates of the school and turned around; the deer was still there. "Hey, I kinda need to leave so could you, like, do the same too?" I asked, wondering why I'm talking to a deer. The deer responded by nuzzling my hand again. After a bit the deer finally backed off, bowed its head to me as if to say, "fair well". Yea it was a cool experience, but I just found it weird, until I felt something in my pocket. It was a rose; it had a mint green and dark green splotches on it. Whenever I held it felt like, instead of being fragile it was supposed to be there. I looked back up and the deer was nowhere to be heard or seen, all that was left of it was a flower that had sprouted from the ground, and a plume of white smoke.
