"What do you mean they're in danger? Is he going after them?" I asked. "How would he even know about them?"

"It's possible that he found out about it the same way I did. After all, your mother and I are the ones that sent you to that village." Oma said.

"Well, then what are we going to do? We're going to warn them, right?" I asked.

Oma sighed deeply, thinking through the options.

"Yes. We'll send Ikemba to warn them." she said.

"Oma, what could Uzoma do? Why would he go there?"

"There is...other magic, Ala." Oma said.

   "Like what? Where?" I questioned.

"It's a dark power, Ala. If he has his hands on it, then it means that sunk deeper than even his father." Oma answered. "This magic requires utter hopelessness, anger and the desire for revenge."

I frowned and looked at the floor.

"Did Uloho use it, too?" I asked.

"No. But he did try to achieve it." Oma answered. She held her hands together. "Uzoma wants revenge for his father."

"So, he really is coming after me?" I asked. "Oma, what if I-"

She raised her hand, cutting me off.

"Do not propose any silly ideas, Ala." she said sternly. "You are not to go anywhere near him."

"Oma, everything is ready." Ikemba announced, walking in.

"Excellent. You must travel to see..." Oma trailed off, gesturing in the air.

"The Madrigals." I finished her sentence. "You have to go warn them of Uzoma possibly showing up."

   "Hm." Ikemba hummed, nodding. "Now?"

"As soon as possible. Come back right away." Oma said. "Warn them of the dark magic that Uzoma may now wield."

Ikemba furrowed his brows at her words, clearly disturbed.

"I will be sure to tell them. I'll go now." he said. "The border watchers have reported an approaching group."

I looked at Oma, and she frowned as she turned to me.

"Leave at once, Ala. Hide." she said. "Ikemba.."

"I'll return shortly, Oma. Don't worry." Ikemba assured her. He held Oma's hand and smiled before hugging me briefly.

"I'll be sure to greet Mirabel and ọrẹkunrin (boyfriend) for you."

I pressed my lips together and closed my eyes, shaking my head.

"You must be forgetting what I did." I said.

"Please, we both know that this is only temporary." Ikemba rolled his eyes before quickly exiting the house.

I smiled slightly at his words, pressing my lips together.

"Then, we came back home. Camilo didn't go into detail about what happened, but it wasn't hard to figure out." Mirabel explained to Luisa and Isabela as they sat in her older sister's room.

"Do you think they'll ever make up, Mirabel?" Isabela asked.

She sighed.

"I hope so. I really do. They seem to be made for each other, but don't realize it..." she said, leaning back onto her arms.
