Silver slowly woke up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. When was the last time he had been so well rested? He was still incredibly drowsy and barely kept his eyes open. "Good morning..." he mumbled to who he assumed was (y/n). Who else could have shaken him awake?

"You're name is Scarlett, right?" Wait, that wasn't (y/n)'s voice.

"Huh?" Silver blinked a few times before his eyes focused on the sight of a blonde boy sitting across from him.

"Hurry and get your things. I'm going to hide you for the day. If that woman finds you, we're going to have a very unpleasant week and a half."

Silver took a moment to process the situation. There were only four other people on this boat. The captain, Lillie, (y/n) and, "Gladion?" Silver realized with a bit of unease. The boy's sharp gaze was definitely meant to intimidate others, but Silver remembered what (y/n) had told him.

"So you know who I am already. Good, that saves time. Now, let's go. Yana is busy guiding the ship for now. We need to get you to my room while we can," Gladion stood up and reached a hand out towards him.

"Where's (y/n)?" Silver asked once he was standing. He didn't fail to notice the slight change in Gladion's mood when he mentioned the girl.

"Upstairs. No, you can't go. I brought you some food from this morning's breakfast. It'll get cold if you don't hurry." Gladion slipped out of the room without another word to him.

"What's his deal?" Silver thought. One look at him, and you could tell that Gladion wasn't getting any sleep. Maybe that was the reason? Silver took the pillow and comforter back to (y/n)'s bed before grabbing his bag. When he peeked out the door, Gladion was waiting for him. He made a quick gesture for Silver to follow him a bit further down the hall. Gladion waited at the door for a moment after Silver had entered the room as if waiting for someone. He took a seat next to Gladion's desk, for the room was nearly identical to (y/n)'s, and wondered how long Gladion would stand there waiting.

Much to Silver's surprise, a pokémon he had never seen before met Gladion at the door. "Sorry, Sil. I need you to keep watch for me a little longer," Gladion quietly spoke to the pokémon. The nickname used for the pokémon caused Silver to flinch. Perhaps Gladion assumed that Silver couldn't hear him. It wasn't as if he knew that Silver's ears were trained to hear even the slightest of sounds due to his past in thievery. That nickname though...where had he heard it?

Gladion parted with the pokémon, closing the door to his room. Silver pretended as if he was looking through his bag and hadn't heard a thing. "Alright bandage boy, I want answers. Who are you and why are you so attached to (y/n)?" Gladion immediately said, not hesitating to sit on the floor across from him and hand him the plate of food he had mentioned.

"I'm not attached to anyone," Silver immediately snapped having taken offense to the statement, but he certainly accepted the food without a problem. He was never going to put that much trust into anyone again. Anyone with that level of trust always vanished from his life or caused him more pain than peace. But then his mind went back to Phillip for a brief moment. He shook the thought from his head before retaliating at Gladion again. "And my name is Sil– Scarlett, not bandage boy."

Gladion noticed the slip up, but didn't comment on it. "Okay then, Scarlett. Why are you here? What was so bad about Kanto that you had to hop onto some stranger's boat just to get away. And it better be a good reason because I haven't had sleep in days, and I am this close to snapping." There were obviously more underlying factors to Gladion's frustration. Silver recognized the feeling and suddenly wasn't as mad at the blonde anymore.
