Hi! Tyrek was boring me in the history class so I thought I should help the twins. And I didn't bunk the classes. I just didn't attend it fully.
I was so bored watching everyone fight. My job was to teleport to different parts of the ground to take watch over every area.
I came back and found myself at the wrong place. I was standing beside Lucy in the forest surrounding the grounds.
"Oh, hey Olivia." She said. Normally, she would have been scared but I think she had gotten used to it. I looked around to find a girl from the water group- Aniet.
"Hi, Olivia!" She repeated, half yelling to get my attention.
My gaze fell on the two pearls in Lucy's hand. "You've already found two of these?"
Aniet spoke up in her cheery voice, "Lucy is great at this! I'm sure we will win."
I looked between them. Lucy had already made a friend? And how the hell did she find two pearls in less than half-time? The Bravens were blowing my mind.
"Oh, look!" I saw where she pointed. It was a spear. Then I saw what was sticking on its point. It was the last pearl. Lucy pulled it out when the bushes rustled. A girl came out just to find the last pearl in Lucy's hand. She grunted. I remembered the girl from the air group. She had short chestnut hair tied up in a messy bun. Her skin tone was darker than mine, like almond. She was wearing a Wesen. I tried to remember her name. After a couple of seconds, it dawned on me. She was the lost haven's best friend. The haven who had sent the message. After that incident, she had forgotten about her social life. It was the first time I saw her after that.
"Are you Nexiana?" I asked, hoping to get an answer. I wasn't expecting an answer as she talked rarely after what happened but surprisingly, she spoke up.
"I am." She answered, without looking up. "Olivia, Aniet, and Lucy." She addressed each of us. Her voice became bitter when she said, Lucy's name.
She gazed at Lucy's other hand and saw the two pearls. She gasped. "How did you get those?"
"By clues and trails." She answered casually like it was the easiest thing in the world.
She nodded, scowling. She gave us a forced smile, trying to not show her sadness and anger, and left.
"So, how do you like the game?" I questioned as we made our way back to announce that Aniet and Lucy had found the pearls.
"It's amazing. I've read some books about your world and-" She made a gesture of 'mind blown'. "It's all awesome."
"How did you get the books?" I asked. She was anxious to tell the answer.
She gave a nervous laugh and said, "I sneaked into the library. I wanted to see the books you have." She blushed from embarrassment.
"No prob. Water group keeps sneaking into the library." Aniet giggled.
"Caught red-handed," I grumbled.
We came out of the last bush and onto the ground. Weapons clashed. I dragged the two of them to the stage and announced, "Game Over! The red team has won!"
I raised Lucy and Aniet's hands to show who had found all the pearls. Many gasps were heard seeing Lucy as the winner. Some of them clapped.
I searched the crowd for Liza and found her talking to the fiercest girl in the fire group. Hearing my announcement, Liza looked shocked, then smiled, and clapped. I still remembered how Liza had burst out during dinner. I couldn't blame her. I was so hard on them on the first day. They had every reason not to like me. I just hoped they wouldn't hate me.
