I breathed the fresh air of Aresten. We were standing in the grassland at Havenland. The creatures which were grazing peacefully scattered across the land in fear at the sight of the giants. It caused a lot of havoc. The winged creatures flew into the air. A few havens tried to calm them down.
Why do we always cause trouble? I mentally cursed myself.
Tyrek galloped across the field. "CALM DOWN, YOU ALL!" He shouted at the top of his lungs. The creatures instantly dropped down at his command. By that time, the eight trolls had arrived.
Oliver stiffened. He still had to go through their wrath. We bowed to them.
Lady Cassier spoke first in her always angry tone. "We need to talk." She said, crisply.
We followed them into their office (more like a palace). I remembered when they had tried to lock us up. I shuddered at the memory.
"We didn't approve of you going anywhere." Lord Ahrer said. Straight to the point. "However, since you have proved you don't deserve punishment after saving us, Albester you don't have to pay the price. No one has to."
I don't know when Olivia, Oliver, Liza and I huddled around each other, jumping in excitement. I felt some of them smiling at our childishness.
Lord Cass cleared his throat. We straightened, still smiling slightly.
"Tyrek, would you like to explain who these two are?" Lord Erlic, the water guy, gestured at Bren and Ophelien.
Tyrek came forward, bowed, and said, "They are the havens who were sent to check up on Linent when he went missing."
Ophelien came forward next. She curtsied, "As you know the Bravens' have got powers. Bren and I would like to teach them how to control them."
I was kinda shocked at that. Lucy seemed dumbfounded too. But we were getting used to being given these shocks now.
The trolls didn't seem pleased hearing about our powers. But they nodded their head, no questions asked.
Lord Erlic cleared his throat. He faced Linent. "We would like to apologize for all you had to go through in the giants' realm."
He just nodded and flashed a weak smile. "I have a request." The trolls gestured for him to continue.
"Can we have a funeral for Nexiana from the Air group?"
There was a pause and then, "We surely will." Lord Lemino said. "She will be remembered."
Linent winced at his words. He hadn't gotten over the fact that she was gone.
Lady Ahren changed the topic. "But we will have to discuss those giants you've surprised us with."
Liza opened her mouth now. "Yes, about them. Can we please keep them?" She pleaded the way a child asks for a dog to stay with them.
I joined in too. "Pretty please?" I showed the best puppy dog face I could.
I saw Lord Lemino trying to keep in his laughter. Lady Ahren turned towards Lady Cassier. "What do you say?"
Lady Cassier rolled her eyes but nodded after a moment. A smile broke on my face.
"The responsibility is on you all!" She yelled as we started shuffling to get out.
As I was going out, I turned my head to have one last look and I saw Lord Lemino wink at us. I smiled at him.
A few steps out and we were surrounded by a bunch of havens like paparazzi around a celebrity. We were picked up by some of the havens without our permission.
It took us a while to realize this was happy cheering instead of being kidnapped. I didn't know the havens were pleased with us. I didn't even know they knew about us going on a mission.
Well, if they were congratulating us, then why not enjoy the moment? I chuckled and screamed as I was thrown in the air and caught back again. Was this the only way to cheer?
After that, Olivia, Oliver, Liza, and I took our friksens to go back to our cabins to the fire continent. We freshened up there. We had spent a long time without cleaning up. Linent had gone to his continent to check on his brother, Lyell. Tyrek along with Bren and Ophelien had gone to settle the giants in their new home at Havenland's abandoned area for the time being.
At last, it was evening. The havens had kept a party for us, the team. And just then I realized, we had started to fit in. It was a big accomplishment for me considering how much of outcasts Liza and I were before.
At the party, most of the havens on Aresten were present. They all chatted with us about our experiences. Honestly? The experience was awful. But I was thankful for all this because it helped me get closer to all these people who I now call my team.
Now, when I say most of the havens, I mean the trolls were also there. Lady Cassier had her usual scowl on her face. Lord Cass, her brother, was having a pleasant conversation with her. The other trolls were busy with Bren and Ophelien, most probably interrogating them. Except for Lord Lemino. He made his way to us.
We bowed.
"Oh, enough with the formalities. Don't bow to me. Consider me a friend." He said. I was really starting to like Lord Lemino. He was the best out of the 8 trolls.
We smiled.
"Linent, I'm not trying to ruin the mood, but I just wanted to inform you about the funeral. It will be tomorrow at noon." He gave a sad smile but quickly came back to his joyous mood. "Now...what do you do to have fun at a party?"
And, so we enjoyed the night. It was the time to celebrate the victory and we made it to the fullest.
