I knelt to the kid's level. "Is there any chance you might know about a magical stone?"

He looked confused at first but then he seemed to understand what we were talking about. "I have heard about it in stories. My mother loves how it looks."

We exchanged smiles. He could help us find it.

"So, do you know where it is?" Nexiana asked sweetly, getting more than excited. I never thought she was ever like this but Olivia had once told me she was a normal girl before Linent went missing. I just wished she would always remain like this.

He jumped up and down. "Oh, oh, my mommy does. She says to stay away from it. It is dangerous."

We all let out a sigh. So much for that! Only if his mother would suddenly appear before us...

"Theus! Get away from them!" His mom yelled to her son. The little kid followed her orders. She raised her hands and two large knives appeared in her hands. She yelled a cry and lunged toward us.

Tyrek slid me off from his back and he and Bren took it from there. At first, they both defended themselves using their weapons. But then, when it didn't seem to work, Bren thought of some other plan.

"Cover your eyes!" He ordered. We all did as he told us.

I couldn't see what was happening but Bren had done something to calm down Theus's mom.

"Please hear us out." I heard Tyrek say. There was a loud sigh which I could only imagine could have been of the child's mom.

"Go on. I'm listening." She said.

"You can open your eyes now, Lucy," Oliver whispered.

I peeked through my hands to see everyone except me had opened their eyes. I blushed in embarrassment, putting down my hands.

"We really need your help." Bren was saying. "We need to find the stone, Aquatenite or the King will destroy our world. We only know you who can help us. Please. "

"I know and I am against it." Theus's mother explained. She was a tall, muscular lady giant. She had her hair tied back. A few loose strands were flowing across her head. Her blouse was made of thick ropes and white fabric and she had a basket dangling from her back. "My name is Thiela. I'm the King's wife."

Normally, I would like to stay away from the King's wife but considering one of their sons, she could be good. I introduced myself and the others.

"I'm sorry for my husband's behavior. He has been like this ever since he found the stone. He protects it like it is his child."

I sighed. Another thing to add to the list of stuff that's gonna come our way. "So, can you help us find the stone? Please."

"I can't. Do you think I want to die right now? I won't help." She denied my sweet request.

"Of course you won't," Rislerk repeated as if I wasn't disappointed enough but then all of us realized what she had said.

"Why would you die?" We all echoed simultaneously.

Thiela raised her big, furrowed eyebrow. "Why wouldn't I die?"

"The destruction of the stone kills the King. It should affect your husband. Your life is safe." Bren explained to her. It turned out we all had the wrong idea.

"No, why would you think that? Your ancestors designed that stone to kill every giant present here. But now that I think of it, it would have been better if it was made for that purpose."

Well, that would be a problem as we couldn't let the good giants suffer. But it was a problem for later.

"So, there's absolutely no chance you'll show us the way?" Tyrek said, his eyebrows furrowed with frustration.

Thiela thought for a moment. She looked like she was going to burst into tears making her decision. I was worried for a second that she would deny our request but Theus made his way to his mother. He tugged on her clothes telling her to bend down.

"Zeth won't be happy if you don't help. He wants peace for everyone, remember, mother?" He told her, hugging her tightly. "You don't want to hurt brother's good intentions."

She smiled at her son and nodded, "I guess you all are getting your first look at Aquatenite."

'Yeses' surged all around our group. And so we followed Theus and Thiela to a magical stone that would decide our future.
