Olivia looked like she would like our punishment more than hers. She loved her job. I imagined how Tyrek would react to this. He was like Olivia's father.
When Oliver heard Olivia's punishment, he looked ready to burst. He clenched his fists. He enjoyed annoying his sister. But he too knew Olivia would kill to save her job. While she acted as if she hated it, it was the only thing that made her happy.
And I didn't wasn't keen on the idea of being held in a cell. I'm sure Liza had the same thoughts on this.
There was a long round of silence before Oliver broke it. "I am the one to blame here, not Albesterin. Liza challenged me to a match. I thought the punishment would be small as it was a minor rule so I got Albesterin into this. And Lucy and Liza, they are our only chance to put the giants back. You can't lock them up."
There was another round of whispering between the trolls (this name is by Liza for the councilors).
"Oliver is quite right about the twins. We're giving them another chance." Lord Earth, Ahrer, announced. "Olivia will also get to continue her job as she is not the culprit here. But we'll have to think about you, Albester."
At this point, I had reached my boiling point. Though I didn't like Olivia, I didn't like how they were treating her. I closed my eyes and screamed over the hall. "Enough is enough! The only thing I have learned from you all is taking away someone's happiness. Do you have a heart at all? Imagine taking away your job. Would you like that? You only care about yourself. You all are selfish little...things. Trolls." Yeah, I needed to learn how to insult someone.
When I opened my eyes, everyone was staring at me. I had said all those words with the anger I felt for them.
Across the hall, Lady Earth, Ahren, said, "Dismissed!"
We walked out of the hall. I still couldn't believe I had said such brave words there. Even Liza was unable to say anything to them. For the first time, I'd spoken for myself. Or someone else.
As we were getting closer to our cabins Olivia stopped dead in her tracks. She turned to Oliver. I thought she was going to thank him for saving her but she slapped him right in the face.
"This was for getting me into this mess." She said. She searched our surroundings and then threw her arms around him tightly.
"And this is for saving me." She mumbled.
Oliver's jaw hung open in surprise but when he recovered from the shock, he too wrapped his arms around her.
Olivia pulled away and was going to leave but I stopped her. "You don't have anything else to say to Oliver?"
She looked at him and lowered her head, "I am sorry I didn't talk much for all these years to you. I didn't realize how much I missed you until today. Can we please start over and forget about the traditions until we're the age?"
Oliver thought about it for a moment and pulled in his sister for another hug. "You don't know how much I missed you."
I couldn't keep it in now. I had to say it.
"Aww..." Liza and I said at the same time.
Hearing us, they quickly pulled away, clearing their throats while we laughed.
"Guys," Liza interrupted. "I think we should get going to save the world as planned."
"What plan?" Olivia asked, looking between us.
The three of us told her about Oliver's plan to save the havens ourselves.
"The councilors will not be very happy if we leave without their punishment after what happened today." Olivia pointed out.
"Don't be so sure," I said. "If we save them, they will be happy and probably forgive all of us. Pack your bags. We are going on a mission."
It was midnight, and Liza and I were waiting for Olivia and Oliver at the statue of a centaur. We quickly packed some essentials (especially elphanals) and hurried out. We made sure to wear warm clothes. Olivia and Oliver were taking ages.
After a millennia, they made their way to us, with Nexiana by their side.
Liza sighed, "What is she doing here?"
"She saw us going out," Olivia answered.
I sighed. The plan was already failing.
"I won't trouble you," Nexiana said sweetly.
Liza rubbed her temples but nodded. "Let's just get going."
"Get ready, guys," Olivia said. "You might not like this trip." She held out an orange pearl and raised it towards the sky. I took a glance at the fire continent. I had to admit, I was going to miss this place. But I would love to see Earth.
And with that, we vanished into thin air.
