>> OFF POV >>

Mae gave me a heads up that the last time Gun was in the hospital was when he watched his mother pass away. She told me that Gun might clam up being in the hospital but since I was the person to him, she trusts that I'm able to calm him down.

We've already completed the vital check, blood and urine extraction as well as the optical and auditory checks. I've reviewed the checklist, there were no other test that would require him to fast. I rechecked this with the doctor and said that Gun can now eat. However, we would need to wait for our room. As the Admissions department still needs to prepare the room.

"Are you hungry?" I knelt in front of Gun.

"I'm more sleepy than hungry." he weakly smiled.

I offered my arm to him, "Why don't you take a nap while we wait for our room?"

He gladly took it and he immediately steadied his breathing. I guess the lil guy is more tired that he looks.

I stood behind his wheelchair while he used my left arm as a pillow. I watched as doctors and nurses pass by as it seems there were a lot of emergency cases that required  their attention.

I didn't bother them as I might wake up Gun in the process. After what took like  forever with me standing there a nurse approached us. She was kind enough to notice that the patient infront of me was sleeping soundly.

"Is the patient's name Mr. Phunsawat, Atthaphan?" the nurse whispered.

"Yes, he is." I said with a slight nod.

"Sir, the room is ready. We do have  to discuss several things witih you when we arrive at the room." she said sounding serious.

"If you may please lead the way, that would be appreciated." I politely said.

After arriving at the room, I carried Gun to the bed. I joined the nurse who seem to be waiting for someone else.

"The doctor is joining us in a while." she politely explained.

After a couple of minutes, a different doctor joined us. He introduced him self as the family doctor of the Phunsawats.

"I know that you're not the legal guardian of Gun but Mr. Phunsawat and Dr. Adulkittiporn advised that I give you the brief." he started. "I am sure that you're aware that Gun has ingested some illegal substance. There's not much to worry but we just have to be extra cautious and provide him with fluids considering that we still detect the substance in his system. With his physique and medical family history, the substance may cause harm if certain genes are inherited. The IV is just a precautionary measure and should not cause alarm. Should there be further findings, we will let you and Mr. Phunsawat know." the doctor summarized.

"How long do you think he needs to stay here? I'm sure he'll ask that when he wakes up." I asked.

"Perhaps a couple of days minimum. There have been a large number of cases that requires lab works. Our Laboratory is already working hard to catch up with the requests. Rest assured that we don't want Gun to stay here longer than needed."

"How dangerous is the substance to him?" I asked.

"If he inherited the genes, then it could mean that he had doubled the chances of acquiring the cancer. Right now, we do not know that is why we need further tests."

"I appreciate the honesty doctor. What other measures do we need to take to have this expelled from his system?" I asked.

"We have yet to conduct tests on his stomach and intestines. However, if he is healthy then he can expel this by just having extra fluids." he said.
