Harper's eyelashes fluttered at the sound of drilling. She sat up on the sound of arguing. Head turned at the closed door; she let out a big yawn and rubbed her eyes. Her phone revealed ten past sixteen.

"Look what you made me do," Paul screamed, hurling something which clatters on the ground.

"That is not my fault, dad."

"You did not center the spirit level on the shelf. Thanks to you, it is tilted. How am I supposed to place the shampoos and stuff without them inclining?"

"Okay, you are supposed to verify it too."

"Is there one thing you are capable of doing, Harry?"

"Dad, I study business, not physics. You should have woken Harper up."

Well, no thanks to you two; I've already woken up Pissed Off.

Face contorted with rage, she walked barefoot, pulled the knob, and stridden to the corridor towards her parents' bathroom.

"What is your problem, Harry? You slept till late yesterday; you ate and went back to playing games. Harper, on the contrary, arranged the groceries with Jenna after lunch and helped clean both cars. What did you do aside from eating, playing, and shitting?"

Harper stopped walking and climbed down the stairs instead. She does not need to face Harry's wrath for being compared.

The volume of the argument diminished. Jenna lifted her eyes from the two-month-old magazine she was reading and smiled at her.

"I expected you to wake up anytime sooner."

"Okay, what is happening?" Harper asked, tying her hair high up in a messy bun.

"Well, the shelf in our bathroom has rusted. A friend of Paul's has given him a spare one; he noticed it lying in the corner of the garage yesterday and cleaned it after you returned inside. He decided to fix it foremost in the morning as he will have an upcoming meeting. Hence he needed Harry's help."

"Couldn't you have helped him instead? I might have gotten a long beauty sleep."

"I could. I chose not to, owing to my dear son becoming lazy as days passed. Fixing a shelf is not a big deal. Everyone should be able to do it."

"I don't."

"You'll learn when the time comes."

The doorbell rang. Harper stepped behind the kitchen counter as Jenna walked to open the door. Steve came inside wearing a blue surgical mask and handed a box.
