A voice has been ringing in her head all day long.
What are you doing, Harper?
It's frustrating, exhausting, and anxious. Going to an illegal race meeting to confront a delinquent or an upcoming criminal. Harper stared at her face in the mirror.
Who is this new girl?
Her finger stopped over the small lipstick box.
Pink, caramel nude, or red
She looks different in slim black jeans, a black T-shirt, and a dark blue denim jacket. She has worn all three except not this combination before. With her wavy brown hair falling past her shoulders, she selected the red lipstick and applied a thin layer.
Wearing her black shoes, she sat and waited for her brother.
Texting Layla about this rendezvous crossed her mind a few times. She couldn't press 'send' and deleted the whole message. Layla will spit logical facts. Her headache will increase furthermore.

Harry isn't ready yet. The street is pretty silent. In the past two hours, she has noticed cars and motorcycles driving by without being noisy and at different intervals to avoid drawing suspicion. That good-for-nothing girl must have been with them.
Yeah, you can
Opening the balcony door, she stepped outside and watched him adjust the ladder. Harper signaled him to climb. He made the 'why' gesture.
Harry isn't ready yet.
oh
Placing his phone in his jeans back pocket, he climbed. Smiling, he pushed some loose hair behind her ear.
"Hey, Harper"
"Hey you," she replied, leaning forward and covering his hands.
"I stood corrected. Red is your color," he complimented.
"Is it a bit much?"
"No, you already look like a winner. She has judged you by your Instagram pictures, a simple girl who posts coffee and books. She'll be surprised to see you."
"Bro, back off," Harry called from behind, startling them.
Gripping Steve's hands on the railing, she turned her head and glared at her brother.
"Are you insane? You should never call from behind when someone is standing at a height where he can fall and break a few bones."
"I think you're insane, Harper. He is facing the house. You are facing the opposite direction. How could he not see me coming?"
