Life is returning to normalcy for a small group of people. In a small break between two online classes, Harper put her dirty plate in the sink and made a cold coffee in her mason jar. She walked to the window facing the road in the living room and spotted three cars driving by. Her barista neighbor Jay who lives five houses down the right walked with a backpack toward his workplace.

She missed sitting in that cozy café with Layla, working on their homework, reading a book, and secretly admiring older guys in formal work attire who would stop by for a takeaway.

"Oh, my goodness," Jenna claimed out loud.

Harper turned around and caught her observing her mobile phone.

"What is it?"

"Come take a look."

Someone posted a video on Facebook an hour ago showing the long queues outlining supermarket buildings. Stop & Shop is no less.

"I hit the nail on the head when I told Paul we should go grocery shopping in the late afternoon. I guessed this would happen."

"Won't all groceries be over then?"

"They'll restock. There is no shortage of food here; at least there will be a limited number of customers. The morning will tend to be full in the upcoming days. For sure, there will be some smart families who'll wait for three or four days before going."

"Or those who have hoarded will not go at all."

"It will be rich families in general who have the space to stock."

"Anyways, I have chemistry class coming up."

"Study well"

"Thanks"

The class went awful as Harper and seven other students could not give proper answers. They were from chapters that they had studied a year ago. The teacher called them out for not being studious, be careful, bad grades, etc. She got up from her chair without delay when class ended.

She is mean, woke up on the wrong side of the bed, don't mind the b****

Harper smiled at Layla's heartwarming text. She then grabbed a quick lunch and refreshments in the one-hour break before math.

Thank you, she still made sense. I have to start revising the previous chapters.

She could have been nicer about it. Why does she never talk to Georgina like that? She also gave one wrong answer.

Georgina is the best student in our batch, duh.

Next time, keep your phone right beside your laptop. I'll text you the answer quickly.
