Friday the thirteenth is often considered the harbinger of bad luck in Western cultures, and being timid and a coward in general, Harper never associates with anything horror, whether a novel or a movie. She has also rejected the skull keychain Harry had once brought her from a school trip in eastern Athador, staying away from anything that could send her mind and heart into a frenzy.

Yet without any ghosts or supernatural beings, goosebumps covered her exposed arms.

Clutching her mobile phone, she paced her room with earphones on, frightened by the new horrors of the pandemic narrated by the radio presenter.

A term came up today: red zone.

They are regions and towns where individuals are at a high risk of infection and places where a higher number of cases are detected. The number of deaths is five, and the number of infected exceeds six hundred. Experts say they expect the number to increase.

The virus is spreading fast.

Good in geography, she figured that most of the red zone are in the north, towns surrounding the capital city Wessam and a few upper east and west towns. The southern part of Athador at large is still safe from the coronavirus except for how long before it transmitted through small airborne particles or contaminated surfaces.

They are being defeated by the invisible.

Harper sat at the edge of her bed, pulled, and folded her earphones.

"Are you okay?"

Harry stood at her bedroom threshold with a quizzical look on his face. Harper's eyes dropped to the bandage on his injured hand. It was shorter now.

"It's healing," she stated.

"Medications are good. The doctor ordered me to return in a week for a check-up. Honestly, I hate to leave the house at the moment."

"Mom and dad-"

"They will have to understand. We watch the news daily; everyone knows how dangerous it has become to go anywhere."

"I listened to the radio. It sounded intimidating," Harper said.

"Which brings me back to my question, are you okay?"

"I will be."

"Will you watch a movie later; I'll take dad's work projector and set it up in my room."

"You must be very bored to ask me to watch a movie with you."

Harry smiled and dropped his gaze.
