"Multivitamin tablets!?" Alec and Jace exchanged a look of horror. "Are you sure Stalkweather?"

"Hundred percent, Alec," Elijah said, hands resting on his hips and posture stooping. "I'll know that drug in any shape or form. Looks like they are mixing this drug with the most common health supplements that almost everyone takes. I'm getting suspicious that this drug is being circulated to the common people unbeknownst to them and not just your family. There's something big going on."

Eyes fixed on the ground, Alec's memory started to joggle back to a specific case that he wasn't able to solve and went cold. The case of a big politician. "Elijah, do you remember the case of Lorenzo Ray?"

"The one where he was suspect of murdering another politician... what was the name... umm..."

"Silas Crewserk."

"Yeah, him. What about it?"

"Do you remember before he went missing, he was acting like he doesn't remember anything? Like not even his own name. What if he was under salad's influence?"

"That would make sense, but why though? What would someone get by erasing people's memories?"

"A lot of things!" Alec said in frustration and kicked the table hard.

"Dude! I have my phone on it!" Jace said and quickly grabbed the things that could cause disaster and kept them on the couch instead.

"Like?" Elijah raised his brow, by now used to his this kind of behavior.

"Like, taking advantage of them. If people don't remember who they were, their legalities would be in jeopardy. Their fortune could be taken away... or.. or worse... fuck... they could be manipulated into doing something illegal... like..."

"Suicide bombing, organ smuggling, weapon smuggling, human trafficking, being framed for crimes they never committed, basically every damn thing, and this Night Ghosters mafia is involved with every single illegal activity."

"So wait...." Jace chimed, "you both are saying that this mafia is using the common citizen to work for them and then throwing them away like a ransack!? Just to keep themselves in the dark. Just to... enjoy watching the world turn into an ocean of blood!? To have... sensitive information and using it for... what not! That's so fucking scary!"

"Scary is an understatement," Alec said in a shaky voice. "Stalkweather, your job for tomorrow is to find every single smuggler and street thug who could be responsible for importing and exporting of salad and bring them in. Make it look like they are being arrested for other crimes and not solely for salad. We can't let these people know that we've started to doubt that something worse is going on. And.. contact other police departments as well. Let them know what we think is happening."

"Understood." Elijah nodded. "But what about the Commissioner? How are we going to confront him?"

Alec took a shaky breath in and turned towards his brother, who had longing on his face. "He's not the only one who we need to confront." He said, and Elijah frowned. "Call Vicky. I'll make dinner for all of us. You people wanted me to open up, that's the only way I know how to."

"And Emmanuel too?" The man raised his brow and Alec internally groaned.

"I fucked up, didn't I?"

"Dude, what the heck is "Break up sex"!?"

Alec shot the deadliest glare he could muster at his roommate. "You all knew we had tension between us didn't you!?"

"You have your hand... and toys..."
