Slamming the breaks of the car as it almost hit Dora's playhouse, Alec got out and ran inside, breaking every single thing that came in his way, despite Valreen asked him not to. But truth to be told, he didn't care. He didn't care that he was a mess, he didn't care if Valreen would get mad, all he cared about was the people who were in danger because of him, including the ones he had always pushed away.

Why can't they understand that he doesn't want to let anyone in? It only hurts. Just hurts. To get close and end up being used was something he never wanted to face in his life ever again, cause he was tired of it already. Yes, trusting someone wasn't easy for him, but not because he was scared of them leaving or turning their backs, he was scared of seeing their true demons, of being used like he always had, throughout his entire childhood. Especially like that one person who changed his entire perception of - do good and God will return it in the best way to you - like his dad always used to say.

The god, if he was there, never returned him with anything despite all the good things he did, all the kindness he had shown to others. If he got anything in return, it was hurt, pain, loneliness, abuse and most of all, emptiness. He was so done with everything in his life that every emotion inside him was dead and all he was left with was numbness, just numbness. And if someone was to blame, it was that one person he had trusted the most in times of his need, the person who he wished he could kill in cold blood, but he was already dead.

Kicking the glass table with utmost force that it shattered in millions of pieces, scattering everywhere in that room, he slumped against the wall and burst into tears, remembering that dreadful night that changed him for worse.

"Zyaaaaaannnnn!" Alec screamed on top of his lungs, running towards the man who was carrying tons of gifts in both his hands and hugged his leg tightly, giggling with delight. "You came early! You came early! Yay!"

"Why wouldn't I young boy!? You know I love your leg huggies."

"Just huggies?" Alec pouted, looking up at the silver-eyed boy with sadness.

"Is my little man sad? Awww, I'm teasing Alec!"

Stomping his foot, Alec crossed his arms, and Zyan burst into laughter.

"Of course, I love you, Alec. Else why would I have brought all this?"

"Those are my gifts?" A grin split across Alec's face when Zyan nodded.

"All of them?"

"Yes, my little rockstar. All for you." Zyan ruffled his hair and a light whine left Alec's lips. Why did his brother love messing with his hair so much?

"Zyannnn!"

Laughing his heart out, Zyan kept his luggage beside the couch and all the gifts on the coffee table then walked back towards Alec and picked him up in his arms, swinging him in circles making both their whole house echo with their combined laughter.

"Awwwooofff! Woofff! Awwwwfff! Awwwwfff! Awwwwfff! Awwwwfff!"

"Hey, Lily, my favorite girl!" Zyan exclaimed in delight as the cute shepherd jumped all over her owner and Alec couldn't be any happier with the new family he made in last six months.

He met Zyan outside a restaurant eight months ago when he was searching for food in the trash. At first, he was hesitant to accept food from a stranger because last time, it turned out to be those bad people who took him on that ship, but then when Zyan took him inside that restaurant and gave him free food right from the stove, he found out that the boy owned that restaurant. He became a constant visitor of that restaurant and soon, gained a brotherly bond with Zyan.
