~ 1 Year Later ~

It was not weeks or months, as Alec said; it had been almost over a year. A fucking year. Alec was finally returning to New York after over a year, and Magnus was dying to meet the healed version of Alexander Lightwood. Everyone was. Alec had texted in their WhatsApp group that he was returning today and would like to stay at Magnus' till he figures out his new living arrangement and job status. Magnus had 'graciously agreed', but honestly, he couldn't be any happier that he would get to share his space with Alec after so long.

He had tried to move on, dated a few times, but nothing lasted because his heart wasn't his anymore. It truly belonged to Alec. That man had stolen something from him that he never had control over in the first place. Now that Alec was finally coming back, he was excited and scared at the same time. They all had created a WhatsApp group to keep each other updated about their lives. Alec never texted anything but always read their messages.

Right now, everyone was at Magnus' cabin, fidgeting and pacing, waiting for Alec to arrive, but somewhere, Magnus had a feeling that wasn't the right move. He didn't know why he was feeling like that. Everyone wanted to see the healed version of the man who was cold his entire life. Alec must have wanted to see everyone, too. Well, that's what Magnus thought and told everyone because Alec texted him the timings personally, but now, Magnus was feeling like he shouldn't have. Did he fuck up?

Well, he didn't get the time to ponder over that because the door clicked open and Alec walked in, and Magnus' breath caught in his lungs. There was an entirely different aura around him, something way too innocent and pure. He was glowing, not just physically but spiritually and emotionally as well. Magnus could feel it. There was calmness and softness around him that had never been there before. "Alexander..." he whispered like a sacred vow.

Alec's smile faltered a little as he noticed the crowd, and Magnus cursed himself. Yes, definitely not the right move. "Ummm, hi."

"You look amazing, champ!" Luke said and hugged Alec tightly, who melted in his father's embrace.

"Thanks, Dad," Alec said, but his soft hazel eyes were fixed on his, as if he wanted to say a lot just through them. "Magnus," he spoke softly, and his insides melted. The way he spoke his name, it was like Alec was trying to summon a deity, which he was far from being.

"Hi." He said, and Alec just ran to him and enclosed him in a hug, ignoring others' waiting arms.

"I'll kill you for telling and calling everyone here later," Alec whispered in his ears, and Magnus gulped. Yes, he still had his dominant, authoritative, and bossy attitude and tone that could send chills down a spine, but worse than before. This was Alec as a healed person!? "But before that, I wanted to talk to you and tell you something."

"What is it?" Magnus asked as they broke the hug.

"Well, this year has been something." Alec started, ignoring the crowd and their curious stares, "I.. I got to learn a lot about myself, heal parts of me that I didn't know needed healing, and realise a lot of things. One of them is something I once said I'm not sure of, or how it'll turn out once I'm back." Magnus' eyes widened at that, and his heart started beating faster; he shouldn't have called anyone here. "It took a while, but I know now, and I'm certain of it. I like you Magnus, fuck that, I love you, I really do, and I want to be with you, forever if possible but I love you, I-"

Magnus locked their lips in a soft and hungry kiss, swallowing his next words, and Alec responded with equal passion, circling his arms around Maagnus' waist, and Magnus' eyes brimmed with tears. He didn't expect to jump into a relationship right away with Alec, but he wasn't complaining. Tilting his head, he deepened the kiss, wanting to taste every part of the man whom he craved and dreamt of being with since they crossed paths almost two years ago.
