"How many?" Kate asked before tossing Mason's phone back to him.
"15. Five in each car. One of the drivers is staying back so we have 14 coming our way. All armed with automatics and strapped with handguns," Mason replied as he caught his phone, his eye never leaving the scope of his sniper rifle.
Kate nodded along to his report, thinking through the situation.
"Blaise?" she asked.
Mason nodded.
Tristian wouldn't trust anyone else to kill me. They think I'm at the ranch, so they must be here to kill off my backup, before heading to the ranch. Unless he knows I'm here, which would mean his information is more up-to-date. Kate thought to herself.
"Shoot the driver and the engines of all three cars. They don't leave here alive," Kate ordered.
There was a deafening silence in the room when Jac and Mason heard her order. They knew what it meant.
It was kill or be killed.
Only one side was coming out of this alive.
While Mason carried out her orders with a silenced rifle, Jac secured the room's main door, rigging it so that they would be aware if someone attempted to open it. Once it was done, the three of them made their way into room 103 in formation, with Mason leading and Jac bringing up the rare.
"14 against 3... Always knew Blaise was a pussy but this is just a new low for him," Jac murmured as he secured the adjoining door behind them.
Room 103 may not look it, but it was ready for the war that was coming it's way.
When the door burst open, the first wave of men that rushed in was quickly met by bullets that came from behind the upturned bed.
The mattress had been secured to the rest of the bed and had a titanium sheet underneath the mattress. The shots that were rained down on the mattress never reached Mason, Jac, and Kate.
Unfortunately, after the first four men were shot down, the others, including Tristan Blaise, did not follow. There was silence for a beat before shots resumed from the door.
But the two shooters did not step into the room, but rather shot from behind the safety of the wall, with the hand holding the gun reaching around the doorway. With a groan of annoyance, Kate peeked around the edge of the foot of the bed.
With deadly aim, she fired a shot into each arm. But the screams of her victims didn't cover up a certain sound. The sound of the crowbar Jac stuck into the door in the other room, cluttering to the floor.
"They're in the other room," Kate announced with a sigh. Mason and Jac changed formation accordingly, with one on either side of her.
"This is gonna be messy," Jac murmured as he aimed at the door.

Meanwhile, Logan stopped the truck in the middle of the hotel parking lot. He stared at three SUVs at a standstill not far from where he stopped, and rushed out of the truck and towards the hotel entrance, only to be pulled back behind a minivan.
Startled, he glanced behind him to find Andrew holding the base of his shirt. Confused, he realized Max was there as well. Noticing his confusion, Andrew rolled his eyes and pointed at the glass door.
On the other side of the door, a man stood, armed with an automatic that was currently pointed at the receptionist. Across the reception desk, another two armed men stood, pointing their weapons at the civilians lying on the lobby floor. It suddenly dawned on him what Andrew was doing. He would have gone in, unarmed, to face three armed men.
"Are either of you armed?" Andrew asked, pulling out a gun from its holster at his waist. Matt nodded, pulling out his gun from his waistband. Logan paused for a moment, glancing around the parking lot. Spotting his car, he nodded as well.
"My gun is in the car," he said, pointing at the black Mercedes Maybach S-class across the lot. Andrew sighed.
"You'd have to cross the lot, and they could see you. You can use my other one," he murmured, reaching down to his ankle to get his second gun. Logan shook his head, raising his index finger.
"Give me two minutes." was all he said before he took off. Running to the nearest corner of the lot, he followed the edge of the parking lot, moving behind cars, until he reached his Mercedes.
Within two minutes he was back beside Max and Andrew, with two guns in hand.
Andrew, who was reluctantly impressed, asked if he had found any extra clips. In response, Logan pulled two clips out of his jacket pocket.
"One of the clips is Kate's backup. If you have the same model gun you can use it," Logan whispered, handing the clip to Andrew as the three of them made their way to the wall nearest to them, to the right of the doors. Creeping along the wall, they made their way to the doors without making a sound.
Max, being closest to the doors, decided to take a peek inside. But he took too long because the man behind the reception desk spotted him. Max, realizing his mistake, pulled his head back a second before bullets rained down on the glass doors, shattering them. Andrew acted quickly, taking Max's spot and firing back. One of the men guarding the civilians went down, but the gunfire continued.
As soon as Andrew was out of bullets, Max took his spot, and he was soon replaced by Logan.
Just as Logan paused to change clips, he heard the sound that he recognized from hours spent at the gun range; the sound of a trigger being pulled with nothing to fire.
Their automatics were out of bullets. One of them pulled out a handgun and resumed firing, so Logan fired back. But he knew it was only a matter of time before this fight became physical.
