Jiang Renshu have finally thought of a way on how to rope in Li Yijun but as he thought about it he fell into contemplation as his most beloved child is involved.
He started to weigh his options and stare at Li Yijun.
This man is already accomplished in such a young age. If he matures and Zhou Mengyao have cultivated him enough, when he would retire there's a big possiblity that he would recommend him to succeed him, The armies under Zhou Mengyao have been growing over years that it grow to hundreds of thousands of soldiers enough to start a rebellion but as he know that Zhou Mengyao won't ever betray him then he can still sleep peacefully.
But if the time comes that this soldiers falls under a person that he does not trust, then the Kingdom might fall into chaos. Seeing the Martial officers and even Zhou Mengyao would attentively entertain and chat with Li Yijun, he concluded that Li Yijun is really admired, respected and trusted by the soldiers and armies in the Central border. If he do something to him without acceptable reason then those soldiers under him might start to rebel to seek justice for him.
Zhou Mengyao doesn't have a son that would succeed his position and only have 2 daughters and the eldest is just a year older than Jiang Yanyue and is also currently unmarried.
He can sense that Zhou Mengyao is really fond of this Li Yijun and there's a big possibility that Zhou Mengyao would give his Eldest daughter's hand in marriage to Li Yijun after this banquet and if he have already announced Li Yijun's rewards for his merits.
Just like what his daughter said this General Li have a bright future and so the more reason that he cannot let him slip away in his grasps.
He cannot help but sigh, It would also be for his daughter Jiang Yanyue's own good if he let a marriage between them because he can at least protect her especially if he obtain the highest position of Martial officer in the future.
Through Jiang Yanyue he can rope Li Yijun under him. He would be more assured if the two would have a harmonious marriage.
This General Li Yijun might be a ruthless Martial officer towards his enemies but he can sense that he have gentle and amiable character. If he isn't and dare to abuse his daughter then he could use that as a good reason to punish him and make him disappear.
And so he have finally come into a decision after a deep thinking. He then told his Supervisor Eunuch beside him to announce that he would be announcing the Commander in Chief Zhou Mengyao and General Li Yijun's rewards making the performances stop and the performers left.
The literally officials and Martial officer's attentively waited for what would the Emperor's reward especially to this young General Li Yijun.
The Emperor have started first to the pleasantries then announced Zhou Mengyao's rewards first. His position was eventually promoted to Grand Commandant and Jiang Renshu generously awarded him with 1500 lands of fief adding to his 5500 lands he currently have. He also gave Imperial ornaments that would be given to his two daughters.
Zhou Mengyao thanked the Emperor Jiang Renshu as he let him go back to his seat and called Li Yijun after that.
Li Yijun can feel her heart thumping with anticipation. After this night she would officially start her plan of revenge as long as she can obtain any type of power today.
The banquet hall also became silent as everyone wanted to clearly hear what would the Emperor give to this General that is a commoner and even a half foreigner.
Zhou Mengyao is also looking forward for what His Majesty would reward to Li Yijun. He wanted him to be promoted as a Nobility and then he could easily arrange a marriage between him and his Eldest daughter. But he didn't expect that his dreams would be crashed by Jiang Renshu the next seconds.
