"YOUR HIGHNESS, I'M SORRY"

Chapter 9

"Your Highness..." Jiang Yanyue who's still asleep felt someone waking her up.

"Your Highness" the person continued to call her. Thinking that it was her Personal servant she lowly complain "Wenbian, go away~"

It became silent for a while but then she heard "Your Highness" being called again.  As she cannot take it anymore, she opened her eyes in annoyance and have prepared herself to scold this servant but those words were stuck in her throat when her dark brown eyes met a deep blue one.

She stared at the beautiful person in front of her and her mind went blank.  Then realization hit her, "I just got married yesterday!" 

She abruptly sit up with a blush on her face as she became conscious of her appearance and slyly fix herself seeing the clean and fresh look of Li Yijun.

Li Yijun is already dressed in her casual clothes and her hair is neatly tied in a bun on top her head. A common hairstyle for men.

She have been attentively watching Jiang Yanyue and caught every action she just did and can't help but to find Jiang Yanyue a little bit... interesting.

She have noticed that despite Jiang Yanyue's status as a Princess she doesn't really strictly follow etiquette.

"Your Highness" she called once again and Jiang Yanyue looked up embarrassed

"What's with you waking up this early" she said with a little bit irritation on her voice to hide her embarrassment.

Li Yijun didn't mind her tone as she smile "Your Highness please forgive this one for disturbing your sleep. But I am worried that the recording auntie would come in a while" she explained making Jiang Yanyue confuse

Li Yijun saw her confusion but she continued to smile and ask "May I ask Your Highness to get down from the bed?"

Jiang Yanyue didn't say anything as she tried to get down as graceful as possible.

After she got down, Li Yijun suddenly bring out a small dagger from who knows where which really scared her. But before she could ask why she's holding a dagger, she saw Li Yijun cutting her palm.

"What are you doing?!" She was surprised and was about to stop him when she saw him letting the blood trickle on the clean white sheet of the big brocade bed.

"Your Highness please forgive this subject for scaring you but I have to do this to prove your purity and to validate the marriage between us." Li Yijun explained and Jiang Yanyue have finally come to realization.

That's right, the drop red.  It has always been a very important proof of a woman's purity and innocence. If ever a woman left the bedchamber on her first night with her husband with clean white sheet she would be recorded as impure and indecent.

She and Li Yijun did not consummate last night so naturally there would be no red dropping in the sheets so her Li Yijun could only cut his palm to drop blood on the bed.

Jiang Yanyue was instantly move by Li Yijun for being so considerate and even tried to preserve her prestige.

She quickly get her handkerchief as she held Li Yijun's hand about to wrapped the wound.

Li Yijun was surprised with her sudden action and quickly pull her hands back startling Jiang Yanyue.

Li Yijun saw her startled expression as she quickly explain "Your Highness, this lowly one doesn't want to scare you off with the blood. And... and my hands are rough and crude, it doesn't deserve to be held by Your Highness' soft and gracious hands"
