Months have passed and the day of the wedding has finally come. Seeing herself dressed in expensive red ceremonial clothes designed just for this wedding Li Yijun can't help but to release a sigh.
She really can't believe that she would have to experience getting married. Ever since she have known about her condition she doesn't dare to be attached to anyone in romantic sense and just wanted to die in piece after getting justice for her family.
Thinking who she would be married to she just really prefer to never marry but faith is really cruel to her.
For the past month she was actually not idle waiting for this day. She actually have to be taught of many court etiquettes and rules. But as she was knowledgeable and deligent the teaching auntie was very pleased on her progress and was very happy that she didn't had a hard time. Her bias ideas about Martial officers being savage and impertinent disappeared and she also doesn't mind so much that this officer have a blood of the foreigner.
Inside a sedan, carried the nervous Jiang Yanyue. Dressed in extravagant red ceremonial clothes that was designed by the greatest tailors in the Kingdom. Her head covered in a red vail projecting a sense of mysterious beauty.
She looked out at the small window of the sedan and her heart thumped faster and faster inside her chest as the procession led by her Brother the Crown Prince was nearing the gates. She can also see figures in red from a far and her soon to be husband is one of them.
Li Bocheng standing beside Li Yijun tapped her shoulders waking her up in her daze. "Brother the carriage have stopped, you should go and fetch the Zhenxi Princess"
Li Yijun was finally back to reality as she went to do what she have to do. As she went closer a palace servant opened the sedan showing a fine and elegant figure. Her breath hitched when her eyes traveled to Jiang Yanyue, her dilicate and alluring beauty cannot be hidden by the veil she's wearing.
This is the first time that she can somewhat clearly see Jiang Yanyue's face as their is a rule that the wife and the groom cannot see each other before the wedding. Also the first time they talked in the back courtyard of the banquet hall, she didn't directly look at her and it was actually already night at that time to clearly see her face.
Li Yijun cleared her messy thoughts as she tried to calm herself. Then in front of Jiang Yanyue she held out her hand as she slightly bow: "Your Highness, if you may"
Jiang Yanyue slowly reached out her hand as she felt the coarse and rough hands of Li Yijun. This is the first time that she held a "man's" hand and was surprised that 'his' palms were actually this rough, but thinking that he's a Martial officer she felt that it was normal.
Li Yijun's hands are actually way bigger than hers and also warm which give her assurance and helps to soothe her nervousness.
Li Yijun carefully helped Jiang Yanyue down from the carriage and led her to the ceremononial hall in the palace where the ceremony would be held. As Jiang Yanyue's dress were very long, almost 6 palace maids have to carry it.
The people watching the two have different expressions in their faces some were neutral, some showing blessings of approval especially Li Yijun's subordinates and some are still not in favor about this marriage.
Li Yijun feeling the coldness of Jiang Yanyue's palm look at her time to time as she whispered "Is Your Highness having a hard time walking, should this subject slow down?"
Jiang Yanyue only respond with a short "Mhm" and quietly looked at her, feeling that this "man" is actually very considerate.
After a while they finally reached the ceremonial hall. Jiang Renshu is already seated on the master's seat as he quietly observe the gentle treatment of Li Yijun to his beloved daughter. He was greatly pleased.
