Jiang Yanyue just got back to her estate tiredly...

She have just came back from the Palace answering the reports that her Father have given her...

After that day when she visited the Main Palace she was summoned after a week and she had a private talk with her father. 

Jiang Renshu have told her everything about Jiang Feng's situation. She was shocked, distress and heartbroken seeing her little brother fall into that kind of state.

Jiang Feng have actually woken up but he was unresponsive, he can't speak and he can't move his body. He really fell into vegetative state and the Imperial doctors can only maintain his life.

After that Jiang Renshu  told her his plans that he wanted her to be the next successor.

Jiang Yanyue was very hesitant and averse of the idea. She's a Princess and not a Prince, she knew she doesn't have the right to attain that highest position.

Jiang Yanyue even tried to suggest her sister Jiang Liwei as she's more mature, bright, more refined and dignified in terms of character but Jiang Renshu disagree saying that "Jiang Liwei's mother is not of a noble birth hence I have never considered her. You are my legitimate child from the Empress hence your more suitable"

Seeing the hopelessness in her father's eyes she fell into contemplation.

Jiang Yanyue have heard that her father have been constantly visited by his Imperial doctor that means there's already something wrong in his health. Yet he was worrying about the next successor.

Constant worries... wouldn't that only harm his health more?

Jiang Yanyue eventually accepted it not wanting her father to be distress anymore on the matters of successor.

But Jiang Yanyue didn't expect that having to accept this responsibility is very exhausting. She would need to read numerous reports, marks those who is already checked by the ministers. She would also give answers and comments in a draft then present it to her father first for finalizing then would need to revise it again after hearing her father's comments then would present it again until it was satisfactory.

Jiang Renshu would eventually be the one to wrote it on the report as not to make the Court Minister's suspicious seeing a different penmanship.

Jiang Yanyue would also need to practice her writings and try to copy Jiang Renshu's writing style for her to personally answer the reports in the future.

Jiang Yanyue would also go to the Grand Library to read books that her father told her and other records and ledger that was left behind by the past rulers and dynasties as to expound her knowledge on managing the Kingdom.

Once in a week Jiang Renshu would then test her with questions related to the books that he have let Jiang Yanyue read and also related to the reports she checked to test the depth of Jiang Yanyue's intellect and understanding for him to know what Jiang Yanyue lacks.

Jiang Yanyue was a little regretful for neglecting her studies in the past and now realized that she lacks a lot of knowledge on many things.
In the first days she almost wanted to take back her words because she found that it was really grueling...

But as days and weeks pass she eventually got used to it and find reading books to be somewhat relaxing and felt that her wisdom and knowledge is increasing day by day.
