"I didn't know you knew more than one language." I said quietly, petting the brown hair on Shilah's head as she slept soundly on my lap.

Xalia, who was doing the same thing to a peacefully sleeping Asher, tore her eyes away from the quiet TV- glancing at me.

"Yeah. I speak three languages. Valen speaks eleven. Asher speaks two but he's learning a third one." She whispered into the dim and almost silent room.

I took a few moments to think about how amazing the three of them were. Especially Valen, who somehow had the mental capacity to speak eleven languages.

As mad as I was with him at the time, I couldn't help but find him intriguing and infuriating at the same time.

He knew so much about me, and yet- I was just now finding out a fun fact about him.

Who was he really?

I glanced in Xalia's direction, a tad bit jealous that everyone else here knew so much about him, yet I was left in the dark.

Shiloh was passed out, leaning his head on her shoulder and taking steady, calm breaths while Xalia rested her head against his and continued petting Ashers head.

It was an interesting sight to see, I mean I knew that they weren't all together..but I'd never seen a polyamorous relationship in person before.

I grew up in places where monogamy was the norm.

But in that moment, the three of them looked as if they belonged together.

The TV was barely audible, but if you strained your ears- you could hear episodes of 'The Vampire Diaries' playing. The memory of Xalia turning it on earlier to spite Asher made me softly chuckle.

Seeing her, in between two people that I felt that she truly cared for, was nice.

"He really likes you y'know. You're the first good thing that's happened to him in a long time."

I stayed quiet, unsure of what to say.

"Just like everyone else. He has baggage. He may seem like an open book, but I think it's an act. To keep people from wanting to know more, to dig deeper." She kept speaking. "Please be patient with him. Give it time before you hurry up and leave."

The crackling of thunder shook me awake, the pounding in my head and body kept me that way.

I looked around the room, burning up in the sweatpants and sweatshirt I'd been wearing.

Shiloh had ended up back in between his two mates, each touching him with at least one limb in their sleep.

I gently moved Shilah off of my lap, unwrapping her arms from around my waist. The fact that she had been hugging me in her sleep was new, before- she despised physical touch.

My back and neck had been hurting from sleeping upright instead of laying down, so I decided to try and find the bedroom I'd originally resided in.

I pulled my phone out, rubbing the crust out of my eyes and checking the time.

3:21 am.

I couldn't help but hope that Valen had made it home long before we crashed on the couch.

Standing up and stretching my legs, I decided to roam the halls until I found the room I was looking for.
