"Uhh..Valen?" I snapped my fingers at him.

No response, he just held his finger up in a 'hang on' motion, my favorite feature of his glazed over and focused.

"Your clothes will be here in a few minutes." He snapped out of whatever trance he was in like nothing had happened.

I just sat there with a dumbfounded expression, one that he chuckled in response to.

His smile faded a bit but the amused expression was still on his face as he opened his mouth to explain.

"Mind linking. Simply put, we can talk to each other in our heads." He explained.

Of course I had a hard time believing that, and it seemed like he anticipated this because he began to further explain.

" 'Us' as in the people in our pack. I'll be able to link with you as well when-" He coughed, " if I mark you." He started to button up his shirt much to my dismay. "At the moment, all that I can do is mind entrance with you." A confused expression fell onto my face and his eyes scanned over it one time before answering my unvocalized question.

"Remember when we were on that face time call a few weeks back?" It took me a second to nod, my gaze too zoned in on the glass that was still scattered on his desk.

I wonder what happened there.

"Well, do you remember when I was with you in your head and um.." he adjusted his pants and looked away. Since his hair was back in the half up half down style- I could see the red sprouting throughput his cheeks.

I cleared my throat and looked away quickly, the atmosphere in the air was back to how it was earlier, the sexual tension could be cut with a fucking knife.

"Reading my thoughts?" I finished his sentence to put him out of his misery.

"Yeah. That." He cleared his throat as well and turned away from me. His voice was a few octaves deeper and I couldn't help but wonder why it does that.

Before he walked away from me however, I could have sworn I saw his eyes reach a darker color- almost brown.

He sat down on the other side of the desk, in one of the guest chairs, distracting me from my previous thoughts.

"Mind entrance is different from mind linking. It's when I take a look into someone's head and through their memories, dreams, thoughts etc." He explained. "I only do it when I need information out of someone but I rarely ever use it. That day we were on the phone- I did it on accident."

I nodded my head and zoned in on the shattered glass once again.

Are those pieces to a cup or a mirror?

"Do you regret it?" He looked at my sitting frame with an unreadable expression.

"Hm?" I knew that he was changing the subject but I was a bit preoccupied with my previous thinking to follow his train of thought.

It took me a second to answer, a second too long apparently.

He clenched his jaw at the small beat of silence that occurred between us.

"No." I answered.

And I wasn't lying.

I may have been a little apprehensive afterwards but regret was a hard no.

I'm not the type to make decisions and regret it right after, besides- I'd already told myself that I wasn't going to so I didn't. It was a simple concept to grasp.
