"What time is it?" I asked the same question, hoping to get a different response this time.
"Time doesn't exist here." Only to get the same answer back.
After falling asleep, I'd expected to wake up next to him.
Instead, I woke up in a body of water once again, fog surrounding the area and a familiar aura all around me.
"I don't understand. Where am I? Why am I hear? Am I dreaming?" I wanted to feel panicked, upset, or even tense.
But I couldn't.
A calm feeling washed over me, even when my words were met with a long silence.
"You're in a state of consciousness that only few before you have had access to. It's not a dream, but you will wake up." The voice was steady, feminine.
I was still laying in the water, looking up at what I assumed was the sky, when a woman emerged from in front of me.
She had extremely long blonde hair and her beautiful turquoise colored eyes shined brightly.
Her skin was pale but it glowed healthily. I'd never seen anyone's skin have a glow like hers before. There wasn't a blush or blemish on any visible inch of her and her small lips were full and shiny.
Her slim body was adorned with white silks and gold necklaces, bracelets, and other jewels were all over her.
She looked so familiar.
As she came down from above, getting closer to me, I noticed that she smelled of fresh rainwater.
I was utterly entranced by her.
As she stood above me, reaching her hand out, I only hesitated for a moment before taking hold of it.Her hand was soft, like smooth velvet.
I was in awe.
She smiled at me.
Her smile seemed to effect the surrounding area as well as my emotions.
The fog cleared and I started to feel giddy, the sun came out and the water became clearer.
It still seemed as if we were in the middle of nowhere though. There were no trees, grasses, or animals.
Just a sun, water, and a blank background.
"I have to tell you a few things. You won't be able to speak. Apologies, but you can't listen if you're vocalizing your every thought." She led me to who knows where, my feet somehow not getting damp despite dipping them in and out of the water on the ground as I walked.
We walked for a few minutes as I admired her tall frame.
At that time, I was five eight, she had to be around five ten, the white dress and silks that were wrapped around her seemed to be perfectly tailored to fit her frame.
Her long blonde hair was trailing behind her and dragging in the water, not getting wet at all.
I wanted to gape at how long and flowy it was, but when I opened my mouth to speak, no words came out.
She raised her other hand up, porcelain skin reflecting the sun itself.
A tree emerged from the ground, its height provided the shade that she pulled me down to sit under with her.
"You're situation may be complicated, but you're here for a reason. You are now the heart, soul, and body of the kingdom. Mother to the grasses and wildlife surrounding it. When you hurt, your subjects hurt. Smile and the sun will prevail through the clouds. Cry, and so will the sky. You cannot go back and the portal will forever be closed to you. I'm sorry. But I have to move on now." She shook her head, avoiding eye contact.
