Warm.

I felt very warm.

As if I were floating in a warm body of water.

In fact, as I opened my eyes, I realized that I was.

Ripples appeared in the water as a moved my arms and legs in curiosity.

There was a fog all around me, it stretched for miles and I couldn't see past it no matter how hard I tried.

I strained my ears to listen for any sign of life besides myself.

No luck.

As I lay in the body of water, I slowly started to worry.

Where am I?

What was that thing that cornered me in my room.

Am I in a coma? How long has it been?

Why aren't I sinking into the water?

Am I dreaming?

Am I dead?

"Don't be alarmed." A soft, gentle voice caressed my ears and a slight echo followed afterwards.

The voice spoke up so suddenly, under normal circumstances I would have jumped thirty feet in the air.

So why wasn't I scared? Why did the voice..comfort me in a way?

I looked up towards the sky, curious as to where the voice came from.

"I'm not." I said back. It wasn't a lie, this persons voice was very probably the prettiest & calmest one I've ever heard.

"Where am I?" I spoke up after a few moments passed.

"Your physical body is asleep. Your subconscious is here with me." The voice spoke back to me, keeping the same controlled and calm tone of voice as before.

"When will I wake up?" I asked tentatively.

I guess that was my way of asking this mysteriously calm voice if I was dead or not.

Some time passed and I started to grow nervous.

Was I really dead?

Just then, the voice replied to me. "That's up to you. Time doesn't exist here." It spoke.

That only confused me farther and I started to grow frustrated.

I mean, could you really blame me after the night I've had?

The fuck does that even mean?

I never was a fan of riddles, and this voice didn't seem like they wanted to have an engaged conversation with me so why bother.

"Well how do I wake up?" Impatience started to rise in myself and I crossed my arms in response.

Just like before, the voice took some time before answering my question.

Meanwhile, I was floating there continuing to wonder what kind of magic water I was in that was preventing me from sinking.

"Think about something that brings you peace." The voice was at a mere whisper now, almost completely faded away.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.

It didn't take me long to follow the command.

I thought about the only person who could calm me down with just a few words or a hug.

As I floated in the water, I started to feel almost weightless as a memory from my past appeared in my mind.
