Chapter 35

JAMES POTTER

It's been four weeks since Kaitlin died. Today is her funeral it's mainly friends and family that's it. I stood in her room looking around she always had it neat and organized but when she got sick she couldn't keep it like that so me and Lily would come in and keep it neat for her even after she told us we didn't have too.

I clutched onto the necklace I gave her four weeks ago. "Nobody is allowed in here and no boys either. Jokes on your Sirius I did keep her away from boys." I said with a sad laugh. "Come on it's time to go now." I heard Lily say. "Is it bad I don't want to go." I told her turning around grabbing her hands.

"No it's not but we are going to our daughters funeral and we're gonna be strong for her for Kaitlin like she's been strong for us." Lily said as I smiled when she said our daughter. I nodded my head taking a deep breath before we walked out shutting the door and leaving.

We sat all sat down as the priest began to spoke. "Dearly beloved we're all gathered here today to celebrate the life of Kaitlin Potter a beloved daughter a friend and most of all a sister." He said as I looked down at her necklace. It's okay my baby ain't in pain no more she is happy with her sisters and not in pain.

"Her father has some words he wanted to say." The priest said as I got standing where he stood. "Hello I'm Kaitlin's dad as most of you know and for the ones who don't but she's my daughter. Every moment me and Kaitlin spent together will always be my favorite and cherished. I told myself I'm not gonna cry because knowing Kaitlin she wouldn't want us to cry she'd want us to celebrate her life and not be sad that it ended.

Kaitlin is my only daughter and always will be. She's my daughter and I love her even when she had her doubts that I didn't but I did. I'm just glad she's not in pain and she's at peace now. That's all I have to say." I said sitting back down next to Lily.

"Ms.Potter bad one request before she passed it was that her memories were shown. If I may have the permission from her parents." The priest asked as I nodded my head he pulled his wand out and he projected it so we can all watch it.

(Kaitlin is Hope and the Mikaelsons ain't the mikaelsons and all you know what I mean.)

She always had a trick up her sleeve no matter what just glad we saw them. "I told you she dated." Sirius said standing up causing up all to laugh. "Pay up James I told you she'd date someone while she away and she lied to our faces." He said as we laughed more.

He sat down back down as Lily leaned onto me. "Thank you all for coming to the service of Kaitlin Elena Potter you are all free to go now." The priest said as he walked off but we stayed so we can watch them lower her casket down to the ground.

She is being buried where all of the generations of Potters have been before. Just glad it's here and not somewhere else. Once it was lowered they started to leave but I stayed for a moment along with Harry. "She ain't gone she's still with us dad." He said standing next to me.

Indeed I am brother.

"We'll celebrate like she never left each birthday holiday and her anniversary we'll celebrate each and every single one of them." I told my son. "Your sister loved you very much this is just a fight she couldn't win but all her life she's been fighting and she's won every single one of them." I told him.

"Why not this one dad I miss my little sister." Harry said. "I know just some people can't keep fighting for everything and she has every day which why she choose to let go so she's not in pain no more look on the bright side she's with her sisters." I told him. "Come on your mom is waiting for us." I told him as we took one last glance before walking off.
And that's the life of my daughter.
