Chapter 14

Kaitlin decided to take a shower and throw on some pajamas. She threw on some shorts and a matching shirt she had received from her mother saying how they should always sleep in short.

She brushed her hair feeling sick and dizzy. She quickly put it into a braid and went to her bed getting under the covers covering herself laying down before quickly shutting her eyes falling asleep. Her nose was stuffy and she couldn't breath through her nose so she had to breath through her mouth.

Harry walked downstairs after his shower into the living room sitting down next to his parents. "Where's Kate." Harry asked. "She hasn't came down yet." James told him. "Have you guys checked on her." He said.

"Not yet." Lily said. Fifteen minutes went by and she still hasn't came down. "I'm gonna go check on her." Lily said getting up. "Alright call me if anything." James said as she nodded her head and walked up to her room. Her door was shut so she knocked on the door and got no response.

"Kaitlin." She said before knocking once more before entering. She looked around and saw her laying in bed. She walked closer and saw her asleep. She noticed her cheeks were red and she was a little sweaty but she didn't have much of the blanket on her.

She walked closer and put her hand on her forehead and felt she was hot. She sighed and walked to the door shouting for James. She walked back over to Kaitlin standing by her side. "What's up." James said walking over to them. "I think she's getting sick." Lily said as he felt her forehead.

"Maybe she's is getting hot." He said. "She just showered you can tell her hair is still wet so she must've went to sleep after she got out of the shower." She said. "She would've told us no." James said. "Darling she's still getting use to living here and speaking so I doubt it."

Lily said as she started to stir awake. "Kaitlin you feeling alright." Lily said cooing her. "Yea-She then remembered on trying to open up to them. "No I don't." She said shutting her eyes again. "I think your sick darling." Lily told her smiling a bit at how she opened up a bit.

"Did I forget to mention I get sick easily." She mumbled as they heard her. "Yes you did don't worry about you get some rest ok I'll make you some chicken soup." Lily told her as she nodded her head.

She gave her a kiss on the head and they walked to the door when she stopped James as Lily stopped as well. "Yeah what's up." He said. "C-Can you s-stay and lay with me." "Please." She added as he smiled to himself. "Yeah I can." He said walking back over to her laying down next to her covering her with the. blanket.

She cuddled up next to him wrapping her arms around him. When Kaitlin would get sick Sage would go in her room and cuddle with her until she got better. So having James next to her, her cuddling up next to him brought somewhat peace to her mind.

Lily walked downstairs smiling to herself all the way to the kitchen. She walked in grabbing the stuff she needed for chicken soup for Kaitlin. The girls walked in seeing her all smiley. "What gots you all smiley."

Dorcas said. "You and James have a quickie." Marlene said as Dorcas smacked her head. "No we didn't and nothing." She said. "No something does spill." Alice said as they all sat down just like they would back at the castle when they went. "Fine Kaitlin is sick." "And your happy?" Mary said.

"No I'm not I just witnessed her open up a bit to us and asked James to stay with her with is a bit of a big step for her." She told them cutting the stuff up. "So where is now." Marlene asked. "Laying down with her." "Doesn't he get sick easily." Alice asked.

"Yes he does but he'll do anything to spend time with Kaitlin even if it meant he was gonna get sick." She said. "She get sick easily too doesn't she." Mary asked. "Yes she does cute that they have it in common but also not cute just hope she ain't like him when he's sick." She told them.

"If she's anything like James we can assure you she's probably like him as well." Marlene said as Lily started to stir the food in the pot. "I hope not but maybe her being sick will get her to talk more often."

"Doesn't she talk?" Alice asked. "Barely she's trying to break that habit of not talking Dawn did stuff and so now she doesn't speak or have fun like kids should she studies all the time and her telling us she doesn't feel good is a a bit of a big step for her." She said.

James was holding Kaitlin close to him scared if he let go of her she'll disappear. "I'm proud of you Kaitlin." He said. "Why." She asked softly. "For opening up a bit and talking to us instead of pushing us away like before and I know you telling us that you don't feel good is a bit of a big step and I'm proud of you."

He told her as she tighten her grip on him. "Thank you." She mumbled digging her face into his chest. "I love you Kaitlin I always will." He told her. "I know." She said hoping her next words won't make him mad.

"I-I l-love y-you too d-dad." She said stuttering because she was nervous. He stayed quiet shocked not expecting to hear that for a long time. "Sorry it was dumb-No it wasn't it's ok I'm glad your ok with yourself to call me dad if anything I'm happy." He told her cutting her off as she relaxed back in his arms.

"I love you dad." She said once more without stuttering. "I love you too Kaitlin." He told her as she sat and started to cough. He sat up patting her back. "You ok." He said as she got up and walked into the bathroom shutting the door as he stood their frozen not knowing what to do right when Lily walked in with the girls.

"How you feeling." "Where is she." Lily said noticing she ain't in bed. "She's suppose to be resting James." Lily told him. "She was but started coughing and went to the bathroom." He said as she walked to her bathroom door and knocked on it.

"Kaitlin you okay in their." She said as Kaitlin stared at herself in the mirror as she had blood in her hands from coughing. "Y-Yeah I'm fine." She said washing them it off of her hands quickly washing her mouth out then drying it with a black towel.

She opened the door and saw Lily standing there. "Sorry didn't mean to worry you." She said noticing her facial expression. She looked down feeling bad. "It's ok come on let's get you back in bed." Lily said helping her to her bed. Once she got under the covers Lily fixed the blanket for her.

"Their get some rest I'll be back up to check up on you later ok." Lily told her moving her hair out the way. "Yeah ok." She said sniffling as her nose was stuffy. "Come on James I'm sure you we're bothering her." Lily said as his mouth dropped opened. "I wasn't bothering her I was actually comforting my daughter."

He said as she rolled her eyes. "Let's go James-No can he stay please." Kaitlin said as Lily smiled at her. "See even Kaitlin wants me to stay." He said as she rolled her eyes. "Yes he can but you better let her rest James I'm serious." She told him.

"Get some rest Kaitlin I'll be downstairs if you need anything." She said as she nodded her head
