Chapter 15

Kaitlin woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare and didn't see James anywhere. She sighed and got out of her bed clutching onto her blanket as she walked downstairs to get some water.

She was dizzy but really thirsty so she went to the kitchen. She walked in holding onto the wall for support. "Kaitlin." She looked up and saw James. "Your suppose to be asleep." He said helping her sit down.

"Why you out of bed." He asked her. "I got thirsty." She said as he got up and got her a glass of water. "You should've called me." He said handing her the cup. "Thought you we're asleep." She said taking a drink.

"It don't matter if I'm asleep you get me understood." He told her as she nodded her head. "How come your not asleep." She asked him. "Came downstairs for some water as well." He said as she turned and smiled at him. "You weren't their." She said looking down.

"What do you mean." He said. "When I woke up you weren't their you said you would be their not that I'm mad or anything just-It's ok Kaitlin I know I promise you I'd stay their." He told her as she nodded her head. "Have you ever tried quidditch before." He asked.

"No mother said it wasn't lady like." She said mumbling the last part. "Well when you get better we're gonna play do you know how to play?" "No." She said. "I'll teach you it's like riding a bike." "I don't know how to ride a bike or know what a bike is." She said as he nodded his head.

"I'll have to teach you then but we'll start with the bike you learn how to ride that it'll be easier with the broom stick." He told her as she nodded her head tiredly. "What other things you weren't allowed to do." He asked her. "A whole bunch." She mumbled but he still heard.

"Right then by the end of this summer I bet you that you'll be doing all the things you aren't allowed to do." He said. "That's breaking the rules." She said. "It'll be ok I'm your dad and if I say it's ok then it's technically not breaking the rules." He told her.

"You won't get mad." She asked him. "No I won't Kate I'll never get mad at you." He told her as she rested her head in her arms. "Come on let's get you back to bed now." He told her as she stood up quickly holding onto the counter for support.

"Here grab my hand." He said as she took it as rewrapped the blanket around her laying her head on his shoulder. "Off to bed." He said as the two of them walked back to her room. "Did he forget we we're talking." Sirius said. "He'll forget anything when it comes to Kaitlin." Marlene said.

"Think she's warming up to him." Remus said. "Definitely she slowly starting to rely on him now but keeps a distance." Lily said as they nodded their heads. "Next thing you know she'll be replacing you Sirius." Marlene said as his mouth dropped open.

"No she won't she can't I'm his best friend." Sirius said. "And she's his daughter and look how easily she took him away from our conversation by just walking into the kitchen bet you can't do that." Marlene said. "Wanna bet." Sirius said. "I bet you 20 gallons that she'll replace you by the end of the week." Marlene said.

"Fine if I win you have to pay me." He said as they shook each other's hands as Remus and Lily shook their heads.

Today is the funeral and Kaitlin doesn't want to get dressed at all. She's laying in bed refusing to get dressed they all tried to get her dressed but she refuses to get dressed so they called over Nik and Elijah.

"Where is she." Elijah said as they walked in. "Her room she's locked the door." Lily said as they nodded their heads before walking up to her room. They knocked on the door and no response they looked at each other sighing.

"Kaitlin open this door right now." Elijah said. "No leave me alone." They heard her say. "Kaitlin open this door and get your ass dressed." Elijah said. "No leave me alone I'm not going." She said as the others looked at her. "Kaitlin Elena De la Martel you better open up this door this instant right now." Nik said and they heard nothing.
