Chapter 13

Manik's Pov

I walk to the terrace and I heard sniffles but if thats nandini why she is crying, is she okay, this was the only thing going on in my brain.

I walk to the secluded side of the terrace following the sniffles, and what I saw broke my heart. Nandini was curled up in a ball crying

"Nandini" I called and she looked up at me horrified, once she realized it was me her facial expressions softened as she flung her arms around my neck, I caught her waist not losing my balance.

"Nandini whats wrong" I caressed her back but her tears just increased as they wet my shoulder. I let go of her jacket and sit down with her in my arms caressing her back but she just wouldn't stop crying and it was scaring me

"Nandini baby whats wrong talk to me" I placed a kiss on her hair as I try pulling back from the hug but her arms tightened around my neck

"No no manik he will take me please don't let me go, don't let him take me please please" she wailed in my arms and I couldn't help it, I don't know what to do

"No baby I would never let him take you, you trust me right" I asked and she nodded in my neck sniffling

"Shh don't cry, its okay" I rubbed her back and she started sniffling in my neck as her tears started slowing down

"You're okay baby, breath for me, take a deep breath in, deep breath out, a just like that" she did as I told her still clutching onto me.

"Everything will be okay, you know that cabir, navya and I are here for you and would never let anyone hurt you right" I asked and she nodded

"I know but he said he he said he wouldn't leave me alone and see he was right, its been two years and he is back" she whispered in my neck and I don't know how long I can be patient about this, I could always ask cabir but he isn't here and he isn't coming back for another 3 days, he had to extend his trip because of some delay

"Nandini baby listen to me, I don't know who he is or what he wants but trust me I will never let anyone hurt you" I said and pulled back a little grabbing her face. I pushed back her hair and wiped her cheeks. Her nose turned red making her look so cute but her tears hurt me a lot.

"Do you understand that baby" I asked and she looked in my eyes for a minute before nodding.

"Good girl, now lets go home" I said getting up still holding her waist and placing her on her feet.

"Manik" she called and my heart did a fucking summersault hearing my name from her mouth

"Yeah" I replied grabbing her jacket from the floor along with my laptop

"I don't want him to take me" she whispered and grabbed my arm as her phone rang in my coat pocket

"Its just your phone, it might be cabir" I said grabbing her phone from my pocket, it was an unknown number so I looked at nandini who moved her hand and looked at her phone instead of grabbing it from my hand. Seeing its an unknown number her grip tightened around my arm.

"Its him, don't pick it up no " her whole body shook seeing the phone so I decided to answer it

"Hello" I said on the phone and she stuffed her face in my chest

"Hello" I said again but the phone went dead which was weird, "its probably a wrong number don't worry, come lets go home" I said and she moved away from me leaving me cold

We walked downstairs to the parking and the whole time nandnini was super jumpy like when the security guard opened the door she practically jumped hearing the creaking of the door. I opened the door for her and she got in, her eyes followed me as I moved to the drivers seat.

I started driving and her phone rang again in her lap, but she was lost so I glanced over at the phone and it was another unknown number. I grabbed her phone from her lap and she looked at me.

"Helloo" I said answering her phone but again it went dead within seconds, I was sure it was the same person. I looked at Nandini and she was just looking at me with a straight face

"You know its kind of hard to focus on the road when you look at me like that Nandini" I said trying to distract her even though I wasn't lying

"Don't flatter yourself asshole, I was looking past you into that car" she said and I knew it was a lie but I frowned making her smile damn that smile is what I adore the most

"Oh whatever, you know I'm hot" I said and she laughed

"Sure mr malhotra and I am Einstein" she said and I couldn't help but smile at her. The rest of the way home she was silent, it was bothering her and she was itching to tell someone but I know she doesnt trust me enough to tell me. We reached the parking lot of the apartment and my phone rang, it was one of out clients so I looked over at Nandini

"Go upstairs ill be right up okay, here are the keys" I said handing her the keys and she nodded. I watched her get into the elevator and I picked up the phone talking to the client. They just wanted to ask about progress of their dresses and telling them that it should be ready right in time I get in the elevator cutting the call. When the elevator door opened I walked to our apartment yes our apartment and the door was open which is off. I walk in closing the door behind me and I see Nandini on the floor

nandini's pov

I nodded at manik as he told me to go upstairs. I get off the elevator and opened the door of our apartment ya I have just admitted its our now. I was about to close the door when I was pushed to the floor, I looked up and saw him, the same eyes that I used to love are now replaced with anger and I shivered even seeing him there.

"Missed me sweetheart" he asked and I moved back

"Why the fuck are you here" I yelled at him trying to gain courage but I failed as soon as his hands touched my leg I felt that touch again and I couldn't do anything

"Sweetheart, you loved my touches didnt you, you slut" he spat out grabbing my leg but I kicked him going back into a corner around my couch.

All I wanted was to be away from him, I couldn't stop my tears, it was that day all over again

"No sahil please let me go I am sorry please" I begged as his hands travelled up my leg to my thigh and my mind blanked almost immedielty. The only thing in my head was manik is downstairs, he is gonna come up and it'll be over its okay it'll be over Nandini

"Oh sweetheart im not letting go yet, ill be back for you and this time no cabir or any other person can save you from me oh don't you dare fucking cut my calls or let that bitch answer your phone ever whoever he is. Ill see you in the morning sweetheart" he yanked me using my leg and grabbed my neck, im sure its gonna bruise.

He squeezed my neck chocking me and pushed my neck away, he walked out and I just curled into a ball as tears flew out of my eyes. I heard footsteps scaring me fearing that he is back but it was manik.

"Nandini why are you on the floor" he asked sitting infront of me, he couldn't tell becasue my hair was covering my face. Maybe he thought I fell well that would have been so much better

I looked up and his eyes held pain which was reflecting from my eyes.

"Ma manik" I was trying to sound okay, I don't wanna tell him what happened

"Han nandini, bolo kya hua, holly fuck what the heck happened I was gone for a few minutes" he yelled probably seeing my neck and I just looked down moving away from him.
