Manik's pov

She was screaming at me and I understand where she is coming from but she has to understand its not her fault so I make her sit and sat infant of her

"Nandini listen to me" I said and was cut of by her screaming "let go I dont want to listen you asshole"

"Shut up nandini not a single word until im done talking" I said in a higher pitch and I felt bad but she has to listen

"Now listen to me loud and clear, it is not a mistake, not your mistake, not your fault. What the motherfucker did was not your fault, so stop saying you made a mistake because you fucking didn't. I told you im so fucking proud of you for being so strong, you didnt break down you went with your life, you finished your bachelor and even though you didnt tell me everything I know you were strong those 4 years. So dont you fucking dare say you are a burden on me or cabin or navya. I do everything becasue I want no and not becasue I have to so if im protecting you and wanting you safe is becasue I want that not becasue I have to.  I dont ever wanna hear that again understood nandini" I said and she looked down , I knew she was crying

"Dont cry, im sorry that I raised my voice" I said putting her hair behind her ear and tilting her chin up

"I want candy" she said and it made me chuckle, "ill get you some but did you hear what I said" I asked and she bobbed her head like a baby

"I heard and I understand, thank you explaining" she said moving forward and pecking my cheek before she sat back

"Dont go all mushy on me" she said and I chuckled

"Im not idiot now go call your brother before he thinks I stole his sister from him" I said and she smiled

"Did he call you" she asked and I shook my head "no, but you haven't talked to him in a while so go" I said and she grabbed her phone calling him

"Hellooo bhaiii, wait what noooo" she said and I was curious now,

"No no that's not fair please" she said and pouted damn she is adorable

"Nandini give me the phone" I said and she walked to me handing me her phone

"Hey dude" I said and I heard laughs"manik janeman kaisa hai tu" he asked and I laughed, "cabir what are you hiding and dont even trying lying" I asked knowing something is wrong becasue when he is hiding things he laughs a lot

"Nothing that I can say over the phone but ill be back tonight so meeting at your place" he said "ya man, sounds good" I said saying bye and I saw nandini tapping her foot like a child with a pout

"What's wrong" I asked "bhai said he isn't bringing me any candy and no yummy chocolates becasue he is busy" she pouted making me chuckle

"Ill get you them, make a list and send it to my phone you'll have them by tom and now go be a cutie and sketch" I said and she narrowed her eyes

"I dont have your number and how would you get them" she asked and I chuckled at her "I think you forgot im manik malhotra baby, and here take my phone and save your number" I said and she took my phone laying down on the couch

My mind should be thinking about this meeting that's in 10 minutes but im thinking about her. Manik stop staring at her like that just stoppp

There was a knock on the door and andnini didnt care "come in" I said and alia walked in

"Good morning manik, how are you" she asked "morning alia, what other meetings do I have today" I asked and she looked at the calendar she has "two more after this one and then you are free, umm manik can I ask you something" she asked and I nodded

"Would you get to the ball with me" she asked and that caught Nandini's attention as she stared at me

"Umm im flattered alia but its still far away and im not sure I wanna mess up the professional relationship between us" I said being awkward "its in 5 days manik and you have been my friend too for a long time so its not mixing up the professional and personal stuff" she said and ya I guess she is right but how the fuck do I tell her no

"Alia I" I was gonna politely say no but ms dhawan had differnt plans I guess

"Miss alia, he said he doesnt want to so get back to work" she said and alia frowned at her "ms dhawan I respect you a lot but please dont get in the middle of him and I" as soon as that came out of alia's mouth I knew It was trouble

"There is no you and him unless mr doucebag hasn't told me, now if thats the case im sorry for interrupting alia" she said and I could see she was angry but why

"Umm alia lets talk later, ill give you a call later I have a meeting in 2 minutes" that was enough to get her to stop and she nodded smiling. As soon as alia left I looked at nandini who was pissed

"Stop pouting like an angry baby, we can talk about it after this meeting sound good baby girl" she just huffed and rolled her eyes

A few minutes later the clients came in and nandini was still laying on the couch, I tell you this girl will be the death of me, I looked for my phone and my eyes went to nandini who had my phone in her hand making me shake my head

The meeting came to an end once and the clients didnt even notice nandini I guess. They left and my eyes fell on nandini who was still doing something on my phone
