Leo's POV:
"It has a bit of a kick," I said hesitantly as I handed a vial of Aklios's potion to Frank. "Remember, don't take more than like an eighth of that. It will cripple you if you aren't careful. Part of you is still mortal."
"Half you mean," Frank carefully cradled the vial as he headed for the door. "We'll use it sparingly."
"Not sure this is a great idea," Claire leaned on my shoulder. "I know it will get them across the country fast and Rome needs their commanders at the very least, but that potion nearly broke our stratosphere when you used it."
"We had the dose wrong," I frowned at the other vials on the table in front of me. We'd slept a few hours, but had to get up early when Cas informed us the demons were moving. Moving to antagonize the hunters by the look of it. We had to get ahead of them and rendezvous with the hunters before the demons, then we had a trap ready. Dean and Sam had been on and off the phone with the other hunter groups ever since dawn trying to co-ordinate. Honestly, getting Frank, Hazel, Reyna, and few of the other Roman commanders back to New Rome as quickly as possible was our main concern. Last night, Reyna had IMed the Roman camp and they were getting organized, but they needed their Praetors, now. Cas, Claire, and Jody would be going with them to talk to the hunters on the east coast. The trap had been set over there as well, but Reyna wanted to be back at the head of her people. I respected that.
"We'll catch up properly when we get back," Hazel said as she took my hand, smiling up at me. "I'm not used to you being this tall."
"I've heard that a lot," I snorted. "Stay safe, Hazel."
"I will," Hazel whistled and Arion seemed to materialize as the fast golden horse came to a halt outside the command tent. "See you soon."
"I think I'm glad I'm going with Cas," Claire gave me a kiss as she eyed Hazel and another Roman camper hop on Arion. "Cool horse though."
"Yeah," I watched as Frank carefully took a sip of the potion. His body began to glow blue then he transformed into a giant dragon.
"Holy shit," Dean came into the tent stowing his phone. "I knew he could do that but, damn. That's pretty awesome."
"We're ready," Sam was behind his brother. "Are the Greeks ready?"
"Should--" I was interrupted as Frank with his load of Romans took to the air and nearly blew the command tent away with the massive strokes of his wings. I had to hold down our area map as the typhoon of wind settled and the Roman demigods vanished.
"That potion is some powerful stuff," Annabeth commented as she made her way back to the tent. "It is our best option for assuring our success at the moment."
"I wonder what it does to demigods who don't have overt powers," Percy speculated as he came into the tent behind his wife. "Would it make you guys tougher than usual?"
"We don't have the time to experiment," Annabeth helped me smooth out the map. "Your people have to get moving. We don't have much time."
"Guess that's my queue," Claire sighed, squeezing my hand then giving me another kiss.
I held her waist tight so she didn't move for a moment, savoring her warmth.
"Don't blow yourself up," She said quietly. Her smile was only half teasing. "You were out of it for like a month last time."
"Wrong dose," I smiled also, but I could feel my nerves reminding me how anxious I was. We had a lot of work ahead of us. "It'll be different this time."
She smiled a final time and followed Cas and Jody out of the tent.
"That's gotta be an interesting story," Percy leaned on my shoulder and frowned. "You really did get taller."
