Sam's POV:

I wasn't eager to sit out the idiots-who-summoned- the-wrong-thing case but I knew I had to take Chance home. When Cas and I pulled up in the impala out front of the ware house Dean had texted me the address of I was glad to see Chance whole and well if not a little sooty. She seemed upset she wasn't being allowed to stay but none of us were about to let her actually work the case; she's seven! The last thing any of us wanted was for her to grow up like Dean and me. Hell even Leo had an unstable childhood. We wanted Chance to be happy but no matter how hard we tried to get her interested in normal things she came right back to hunting every time. Cas had flown up to update Claire and Jody about what was going on then he decided to stay with Dean and Leo for the case so Chance and I went back to the bunker alone. Egan stayed curled in Chances lap as a snake the whole way back.

After a long and silent drive Chance finally broke the silence as we pulled into the bunker garage, "Sam, can I ask you something?"

"Uh," I paused a bit unsure of what she was ging to say. "Sure, I guess."

"How did you feel when you found out what the yellow eyed demon did to you?"

"Oh," I wasn't prepared for that... "Well, I was a bit scared I guess, but I also-- I also felt like-- well, like a missing piece of the puzzle had clicked into place. It was like... I'd known there was something different or something about me and until I found out about the demon blood that had been missing. So I guess both relieved and scared and...whole."

"How did you feel when you found out it was because of a deal your mom made?"

"I didn't realize you knew that," I mumbleed uncomfortably. "Uh, well, I... was angery-- at first. But I soon realized that if she hadn't made that deal I wouldn't be here at all. So on whole I guess I'm grateful. So the anger turned to shock and then yeah, I realized I owed my life to that deal because if she hadn't she wouldn't have had me or Dean."

"Oh," Chance jus stared at her hands. "I want to be mad at my mother for falling for a monster...but I just can't!"

She began to cry and I began to rub her back, "It's okay kiddo."

"I just wish I could talk to her!" Chance sobbed. "So I could understand why! Why would you fall in love with a monster?"

"Love can be a funny thing," I smiled, a bittersweet taste in my mouth. "It can cause you to make stupid decisions and turst people that your better judgement would tell you you shouldn't. I know that all too well."

"Who did you trust?" Chance glanced tearily up at me.

"Well," I pursed my lips awkwardly. "She was a demon named Ruby. Thanks to her I kind of, well, started the apocalypse."

"Really?" Chance starred at me wide eyed. "Why would you trust a demon?"

"It was a stupid decision," I admitted. "I thought we were in love so I trusted her and began using the powers the demon blood gave me. From there it spiralled out of control, but Dean, Cas, and I fixed it, so it was okay enough in the end, I guess."

"Claire told me some about that," Chance wiped her eyes. "You and Dean are a lot like my brother."

I waited for her to continue that statement but she simply hopped out of the Impala with Egan and wandered out of the garage instead. Sighing I decided to call Dean.

Leo's POV:

Public library computers are the worst. Not only can every monster in creation track me the second I touch one but the server is also unbelievably slow. Since I'd been in such a rush to chase after Chance neither me or Dean had a computer to look up anything and Dean's old fashion burner flip phone wasn't much help either plus I'd left my cell at home too. If Claire called she wouldn't be able to get a hold of me. On the bright side Dean's phone does allow us to be reachable and Castiel's presence makes tracking down ghosts somewhat easier. As I was impatiently resisting the urge to go fix-o-mania crazy on the computer's internal circuts while new research was loading, Cas was doing a survey of the town to see if he could sense any ghosts. I felt kind of tired, a little irratated, and a lot hungry so waiting for the sluggish computer was not improving my morning.

"How's it going?" Dean asked as he leaned against the table next to me. In reply I slumped face first on the table and gave out a sound somewhere between a groan and an engine dying. Dean frowned, "That bad, huh?"

"There's a lamia three stacks over that is eyeing me like roast diner," I straightened in my chair. "And a ventus forming outside the window. I think I might die here."

"You've faced worse," Dean commented dryly. "You get your head screwed on straight yet?"

"Getting there," I yawned. "could you handle those two for me? Quietly?"

"Sure," Dean shrugged as he slipped off into the stacks and then outside before returning. "How's it going?"

"No progress," I groaned. "How was hunting?"

"Kinda quiet," Dean nodded. "Knives to the back usually are."

"I found something," Cas appeared out of no where right beside Dean making him jump out of his skin.

"Jesus Cas!"

"I didn't find Jesus," Cas frowned. "But there is another farm house that appears to have a lot of restless spirits gatering around it."

"Perfect," Dean clapped me on the shoulder. "Let's drop on by. Calmly this time?"

"Sure," I shut off the computer. "It's not like a manticore and a karpoi just entered the library or anything. Oh look, they're fighting over who's going to attack me first."

"Give me a moment," Cas disappeared then reappeared behind the squabbling monsters. He grabbed them and disappeared again before blinking back into existance by our sides; mosterless. "The problem is resolved."

"Wow," I pulled on my jacket. "You're faster than Dean."

"Shut up," Dean grunted and we followed him out the door.
