Dean's POV:
"You sure you're okay going to NY County?" I asked as I tossed my pistol in the bag Sam was packing.
"It'll be fine," Leo shrugged. "It's not like I left the demigods because of drama. Besides, we're going no where near them. It'll be fine."
It sounded more like he was trying to convince himself rather than us. I shrugged and continued packing the bags. "You don't have to come if you don't want to."
"Jody and Claire need help," Leo shouldered his backpack. "We have to go, they would for us."
"He's got a point," Sam agreed.
"I never said we weren't going," I grumbled. "I just said if it's too hard for Leo to be near the camp, he doesn't have to. We can handle it."
"It's hell hounds Dean," Leo went to the door. "I can see them, you can't."
"That's also true," Sam nodded. "We broke our last pair of hell hound glasses last month."
"If Leo's good with it," I grabbed my bag and left the motel room. "Then I'm good too. Having him along is easier."
"Thank you," Leo flopped in the back seat of the impala.
Sam and me packed in the front and off we went. Never thought I'd be hunting with a half-god, half-human kid before. I suppose we've done weirder. It's been three months since we saw Jody and Claire on new years. I was a little surprised to hear they were hunting together. Jody usually preferred the girls to focus on their studies. But last week Alix called saying she hadn't heard from either of them in a couple days and she was concerned. Understandably so too. They'd heard about a demon tricking people into short deals up in New York County so we gave them a call. They were okay and got a hold of Alix to give her an update, but last night we got a frantic call from Claire. Jody was hospitalized and she wasn't sure who to trust. We'd only just finished a case in Ohio so we told her we'd be right over as soon as we caught up our sleep since we'd been hunting Vamps for sixteen hours straight. Leo had wanted to go right away, but we made him rest. That ADHD of his was sure something, he could go for unbelievable amounts of time. However he did have limits. One time he convinced us to let him drive to save time. He drove for eighteen hours then hunted Werewolves for another twelve. He past out shortly after. I had to carry him back to the motel. But even after all that, he didn't seem to realize he had limits, especially if Claire was involved. I was worried we'd have to knock him out with sleeping pills last night. Then there was the other side effects of ADHD. Leo always fiddled with something. He improved our weapon arsenal with these Archimedes spheres. Him and Sam geeked out over them for a couple weeks to come up with some useful models. I'm not saying the toaster sphere isn't useful, it just doesn't help much on hunts, unless you're hungry. Now we had traps and exploding things , and bright flashy light things... there were probably more technical terms for those, but I don't know them. Any ways, having Leo around was awesome to say the least, way easier to hunt, but Leo, as a person, was pretty cool too. He was pretty tight lipped around his past before Wilderness school, but hey, everyone has things they'd rather not talk about. Sam and I had been pretty open. Some things were off limits unless we brought it up first, but not many. Leo had an uncanny ability for well timed remarks that were either funny or punny, but in a satirical way rather than a "ha ha what a good joke" way. Then there were the times he'd say exactly what we needed to hear even if it wasn't what we wanted to hear. I got the impression that he'd never been able to do that with his old crew of Demigods and that might be what contributed to him not wanting to return to them. Either way, he'd not been entirely clear on why he wouldn't go back. He said it was because he was different and they couldn't help him. Cas said that something had to do with killing a goddess like Gaia and the cosmic effects it would have on Leo's soul. What ever the case it seemed Leo was here to stay. Couldn't say I was disappointed, Leo also knows how to talk cars and appreciates Baby just like I do. The kid's got good taste. He also upped the security at the bunker so that was nice. Leo laughed at the fact that we too had a secret bunker to live in. Suppose that is a bit funny.
