"How could I kill him when I was with you in the kitchen?" Alfred protested the accusation that he killed Mr. Brody as Colonel Kraft insisted, he did the deed, despite him clearly incapable of doing it.
Theodore calmed them down as he mentioned that it's possible that Mr. Brody slipped into another manic episode, it's possible he used a fragment of the poison to give him time to escape and his manic state took over. Hit himself over the head with the wrench and that's that.
"Well, without forensics, we won't know, and we can't call anyone in this damned weather, anyhow!" Colonel Kraft huffed. "And we have two dead bodies here!"
Even with them covered up, it's not helping the morality of the guests.
Lila remembered something as she brought up, "Either I'm losing my mind or didn't you say you didn't intend for this to happen, say that again for the people in the back, please?"
Eying Alfred, she wanted answers regarding what he said earlier and she wasn't budging until he gave her the answer.
Frowning, Alfred said he knew how awful Mr. Brody is when he's in his peculiar moods, so he planned the dinner party in hopes it's enough for him to see the light, and receive proper help.
"You invited us to intervene, that's it?" Lila's dumbstruck about this whole thing. All this, planned, by the butler, just so his boss would take the hint and seek help.
Unfortunately, it didn't turn out very well because Mr. Brody slipped into another manic episode and decided to make a game out of this, resulting in the chaos that happened.
"I don't understand where I fall into this, though," Scarlet eyed Alfred as she pointed out that out of everyone, she wasn't the person that should've been invited to intervene.
Maybe if she gets the payment owed, but that's beside the point, it's not in her job description to do something like this!
Alfred thinly mentioned that Scarlet had troubles with Mr. Brody hurting her girls due to his mood swings and to keep her from bothering him, he paid her off.
Lapsed payment and she came to collect.
"How'd you know that?" Scarlet's baffled as Alfred seemingly told her what happened between her and Mr. Brody.
Mr. Brody used Scarlet's services, but not for what one expected, he emotionally tormented poor women who Scarlet inadvertently assigned to him with his mood swings that ranged from psychotic to demeaning.
"How come you didn't inform the police?" Colonel Kraft asked Scarlet why she didn't turn Mr. Brody into the authorities for his abusive behaviour to her workers only for her to remind him that her services aren't on the books.
Professor Rose mentioned that she wouldn't face charges on account her arrest would've implicated half the population. She wasn't in any threat of arrest herself and the authorities wouldn't wanted to deal with the headaches of angry housewives finding out their husbands visited Scarlet's ill repute.
"Even then, this man clearly was a threat, surely someone would've done something the moment they saw that, wouldn't they?" Colonel Kraft continued as he's baffled why no one turned Mr. Brody in for his abusive nature and his manic episodes that resulted in harm.
Speaking up, Lila asked if he ever saw anything that suggested Mr. Brody was a ticking time bomb, for which the colonel said that he was a dutiful soldier through and through. Never had any problems with him, until Lila pointed out that he didn't have contact with Mr. Brody the moment he received his injuries and ended up discharged from the military.
