Ransacking the cages filled with medicine ranging from anti-psychotics to Xanax, Lovett and Theodore scoured for the items they required in preparing the bombs that'll go off once the Sabbek took their chosen victims from their rooms. Despite Theodore's attempts at finding another way, it proved futile all the same, nothing he thought about doing would've stopped the Sabbek, and would've made things worse.
Regardless how he felt, he couldn't do anything and Lovett couldn't tell him who the Sabbek wanted. He didn't know the process, but if he had to guess, they'll stalk whoever they've chosen.
They wouldn't waste time like that unless it's important to them or a last-ditch effort.
Thinking back, Theodore asked the probability that they showed themselves to whoever they chosen. Something subtle, that it wouldn't raise alarms, help influence them.
As he grabbed the last bottles of Physostigmine, Lovett answered that he heard stories of beautiful women showing themselves to people shortly before they disappeared. Never gave thought about it until they're dealing with the Sabbek.
In his opinion, they probably showed themselves to those they wanted, in subtle ways that wouldn't give off their inhuman natures, until they came and collected.
"I think Trudy saw them, she's been painting the same set of women multiple times," Theodore thought about Trudy, even with her condition, she couldn't have come up with those women on her own. In her mind, she didn't see the inhuman Sabbek, just those women.
Nodding, Lovett stated that they'll routinely come during opportune times, spying on Trudy, getting an idea, and Theodore wondered who else they take.
Lovett warned him that they take men, too, sometimes the Patriarch takes them, but Sabbek takes them most of the time.
"Only one I can think of is Tommy. He made a mask that looked like one of the Drekker," Theodore noted. Tommy's the only one he can think of because of his mask, the way it looked, no way he could've came up with that on his own, not unless he saw one outside his window.
"If it's true, it won't take long," Lovett summed that if it's only those two, it won't take the Sabbek but mere minutes finding them.
It'll be swift and once they've taken the two away from the mental hospital, he and Theodore can safely set off the bombs, scaring them off from coming back, without inciting them.
Sensing the discomfort in Theodore, Lovett tells him that he tried everything in his power, but this' the only thing he can think of that'll prevent needless bloodshed.
"Even if you can't fight them, you can still fight against the people who use them," Lovett encouraged Theodore that if he can't stop the Sabbek in the conventional way, he still has a chance fighting against people using them for their own purpose.
Chewing on his inner lip, Theodore mustered that Lovett had a point, but it still wouldn't take the sour taste out of Theodore's mouth knowing this.
"I promised you, I'd stop them. I'm keeping it," Lovett tells Theodore, causing him to stop as he eyed him curiously.
Once more, Theodore asks, "Who are you?"
Once again, Lovett told him, "Not yet."
The mysterious Lovett, pushed Theodore onward, helping him create the needed bombs against the Sabbek while they had time.
Theodore relayed the important parts telepathically to Lila, informing her that she and Al lock the security guards into any janitorial closets they find.
Then, when they're done, he wanted Lila and Al out of the mental hospital.
"Hold it, Spaceman, you're telling me we gotta turn over people to these things?" Lila didn't take the news well as expected as she heard how they're supposed to let whoever the Sabbek wanted go to them.
