Chapter 6 : The test ( Part 1 )

It's already 4PM now and we're going to have dinner at Jaemin's house, me and Karina are preparing the food in the kitchen while the two of them are just focusing on playing their game, i saw Karina is cutting carrots but then she suddenly stopped, i saw her face expression change, she doesn't say anything and just keeps silent, she's looking down at the knife, i wonder why she's being like that so i asked,

"Hey....are you alright, you seems so distracted."

She just looked at me and smiled bitterly like there's something that she doesn't want to tell me, suddenly she said,

"Nothing, i'm just worried for the test, you know....i'm not good at playing piano so i'm a bit frustrated, anyway.... can you call the other two in here, the food is ready."

I just nodded my head then go to the living room and saw the two of them are playing games with each other, but they didn't notice me so i clear my throat and said,

"You guys are going to eat or not, the food is going to be cold so come here quickly."

Only when i said that, both of them looked at me then stand up and followed me to the kitchen, we sat down and started to eat, i noticed that Karina just keeps silent while eating so i asked her,

"Karina, you sure that you're okay ?"

But instead of answering me, she just nodded her head, suddenly she stand up and said,

"It's quite late now so i should go home first, see you guys at school tomorrow."

After she left, Haechan also stand up and said before he left,

"Maybe i should follow her."

Then be run away after Karina, now it's just me and Jaemin here, i don't know what to say so i just keep silent and continue to eat, the atmosphere is so awkward now between us, but then, i remembered something so i asked him,

"Now you can tell me what's going on between you Haechan this morning before you guys went to class."

He just looked at me like he's afraid of something, but then suddenly he said,

"No-nothing."

Just by his shaky eyes and hesitant voice, i immediately realize that he's lying, but i still asked that question again, i asked,

"Just tell me, i don't mind."

Then he sighed and started to tell me the whole story,

"This morning, when i arrived at school, i saw him sitting on the bench, although i didn't want i still come and talk to him, but he just kept silent, so i told him that i'm not mad at him anymore."

I interrupted him,

"But why are you mad at him, did he did something to you before ?"

He sighed again and continued,

"It's a long story when we're in grade nine, at that time, we're classmate, close friends, we treat each other as brothers, we shared everything with each other, i help him with everything and so did he, but then one day, there's a girl transfer to our class, her name was Shin Ryujin, i fall in love with her at first sight, we've been in a relationship for almost a month but then, there's something unexpected happened, Haechan also fall in love Ryuijn, and so they betrayed me, after i found out about their relationship, i broke up with her and started to distance myself from Haechan, but also since then, i never saw Ryujin again, she just disappeared like that."

After hearing his story, i don't know what to think anymore, there's a lot to process, but i think it's better to just keep silent, or else i will say something wrong, i look at my phone again and realized it already 7PM so i stand up and said,
