VV

As soon as I woke up earlier, I was preparing what I needed to do or say. I wanted to go to Elijah's house. It's Saturday today, so I decided to go now. Since I've been to his house before, I headed straight there, and I sort of knew the way.

The guard let me in, maybe he recognized me? I didn't expect him to let me in. I knocked on the door three times, and it opened.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"Um, I'm Valerie. Is Elijah here?" I asked.

"He's not here," he replied.

"Can you tell me where he is?" I asked again.

"He's not here," he repeated, nodding.

"Just a moment, why are you looking for Elijah?" an older woman appeared.

"I have something to tell him," I said.

"He's not here, he's in the condominium," she said.

"Do you know where?" a younger woman asked.

"Of course," she replied.

"Can you tell me which condominium?" I asked.

She showed me a text where Elijah mentioned the location.

"Okay, thank you," I thanked them and left to find a taxi.

Next thing I knew, I was standing in front of a well-known condo. I hesitated for a moment, unsure kung papasok ba ako. But I had to, I couldn't handle this child alone. I didn't even know if I wanted to have kids, and now this.

Without further hesitation, I entered. "Miss, which unit is Elijah Quinn's?" I asked the receptionist.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"I'm Valerie, his friend."

"Okay, wait a moment, I'll call him," she picked up the phone.

"Yes, hello sir, someone named Valerie wants to see you... Okay sir," she hung up.

"He's on the 6th floor, Room 608. Follow me," she said, leading me to the elevator.

"Thank you," I said as I entered and pressed the button for the 6th floor. I was nervous, unsure of how he would react—would he be happy to see me, or would he turn me away?

After a few seconds, the elevator door opened. I continued to search for his room. After passing seven rooms, I finally found his.

I stood in front and pressed the doorbell. When it opened...

"Valerie," he said.

"Elijah," I nervously replied.

"Pasok ka," he welcomed me and gestured towards the soft sofa.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I have something to tell you," I hesitated, holding back tears forming in my eyes. I didn't know why I felt this anger towards him.

"What is it?"

I stared at my feet for a moment, unsure of what to say. "Hey, what's up? It must be important since you came all this way. You could've just called," he said, reaching out to gently lift my chin to look at him.

"So, what do you want to tell me?" He looked at me with those same gentle eyes he used to give me. I opened my bag and pulled out a paper that the doctor had given me.

"What's this?" He opened the envelope.

"Elijah, I-I'm pregnant. And I'm telling you because you're the only one who touched me," tears started to well up in my eyes.
