the moon and the sun

you know the story of the moon and the sun
sky and earth
straining at their tethers to come together
in most tender embrace
and all world would weep flowers
manna overflow
joy ring from mountaintops like earthquakes in the sky
shake the foundation of the universe
oh the joy of being whole again
oh unfathomable heaven of delicate symphony
syncopation and tandemity amidst all calamity that proves destiny
a fickle farcical mistress
and the constellations would break apart
and reform
for nothing is gilded in permanent stardust
stories are ever unwritten
mere suggestions
whispers, tingles, shivers down
spires of longing
to be one as pangaea once
one as the unformed cosmic bounty of firmament rekindled
one
one
one
but torn in two, all the world
bleeds into
one
another
red sky shiver
mournful low keens
ribs heaving breaking apart
a part of your soul
ruthlessly guillotined
and you can only scream
and scream
and scream

and
eclipse

reach out trembling fingers aching to dream
strain and writhe as you try
to move tither
come hither
come to me
come back
please

i can't reach you

shadows

parallel lines unerring
parallel lines never meeting

pendulum chimes sussurating
out of time
in deep water
drowning

if i can't be with you, then drown me
before my soul rends again
and again
and again
and cuts up my palms and ankles and knees with rough-hewn diamond splinters
