"sure why not"
my devil-may-care refrain
echoing like every whim i throw to the wind
and watch them whip back in my face
lashings of loneliness
cracks of i cant see a future
with me or anyone or anything except this lifeline in my lungs
a desperate bid at normalcy
satellites spin
and flash
and crash
into my stratosphere
sending flares of strawberry scents
and blueberry bruises bloom
marooned all over my skin
carving into my steel heart
leaking aches into every crevice
i long to be
unmoved, unmoving
and in madness i find safe harbor
thrumming through my veins a morse code of peace
landscape of hazardous tranquility
dont close your eyes now
dont you dare breathe
just lie awake and dream
of escape to an orbit undiscovered save for in this starless white-light scene
