oh to feel alive

i only feel alive when i'm dying
slowly scattering like the stars
dust to dust, blow away on the wind
little delicate breakable me
shrivel and shrink
until my ribs cave in
red rimmed eyes and soul of soot
skin drawn tight over treasure ossified
ivory sapphire garnet
heart like a hummingbird
of itself exhausted
from flying so high
so hard
fly away little one
to perhaps find a paradise
amid the stars
or fall to grace
and like ophelia lay
as stardust scatters like bride's veil
spread over me, usher me into a place
where there exists joy i can
maybe
hopefully
finally
feel

death is the sweetest li(f)e
