Tate ignored his inner thoughts telling him to make her run far away, anywhere but here. But he knew his job and he just couldn't do it. She is too young to be caught up in this! His thoughts screamed. Tate had just meet Lacey but he already wanted to protect her. He groaned to himself as he debated. But in the end his weaker side of him won. He held out his hand for her to take. Lacey's seemed confused but then she gently placed her hand in his. Her hand was very small to his but it felt...right, if that even makes sense. Lacey curiosity grew as she wondered to the white chair. Tate wished he could lead her away but now it was too late. She got closer then placed a hesitant hand on it. He held his breath and walked towards her. But not to rush her, he stood next to her. Her crystal eyes looked up at him, and he detected fear. Gulping he wanted to ensure her that everything was going to be fine, even though it was far from it.
