Tate heard the front door click, and he knew whoever Lacey was talking to had left. Had she really thought he wouldn't be able to hear her footsteps on that floor? Besides, he thoughts were to occupied with questions to let him fall asleep. If Lacey was so afraid of anyone seeing her; it didn't make any sense that she would actually take that risk, specially at night. Why would she have to sneak?

Tate flipped sides in his bed and reminded himself that it wasn't any of his business. He was only giving her a safe place to stay. But if he was helping her shouldn't he at least be titled to know? And was hiding her making him a target? Was he in danger also? Groaning he flipped over again. He just had to know. Before he could change his mind he flung his legs over the bed and landed his feet on the floor.

Clearing his throat he stepped out of the shadow just in time before lacy was about to walk passed him. He hasn't plan on scaring her. Lacey yelped loudly out as she bumped into the large shadow emerging for the dark.

"I'm sorry..who were you taking to?"

Tate asked still blocking her way towards her room. Lacey sighed loudly and pressed her hand against her forehead regaining her pose.

"It's none of your-"

Tate interrupted her.

"It is my business, now. Tell me. What kind of trouble are you in?"

His voice sounded harsher than he had intended. But he had to know.

"I can't-"

"Yes you can."

Lacey straightened her shoulders and folded her arms over chest, stubbornly.

"You don't understand. Now can you move..your blocking my way." She huffed.

Tate didn't budge. He didn't even thought about falling for her wide blue eyed puppy expression. No, she wasn't getting away, not this time.

"Stop. I'm not moving, either are you until you tell me, everything."

Lacey stiffed and shook her head.

"We have been over this-"

"I change my mind. I want to know. Is this going to put me in danger?"

He raised his eyebrow.

"I don't know.."

Lacey mumbled briefly looking at her feet.

"You need to tell me, why you went to me earlier."

He stated, choosing not to dwell on the fact that there a very high possibility that he could be putting his life at risk. Neither of them spoke for a long moment. Finally, she dropped her arms and sighed.

"Can we sit down?"

Tate nodded and motioned towards the kitchen.

"We have all night."

He mumbled.
