I just want to notify people, that the edit above is MINE. I made it myself. So if you take it, please give creds. Thanks. I make all of the edits that go into this fanfic btw.
That morning, in the great hall, Lily was furiously flicking through pages of a potions text book and shoving a piece of toast down her throat.
James walked in "What's up with Evans?" He asked, pointing a thumb at her.
"She didn't 'memorise' her potions text book before today, so she's trying to do it now." Marlene explained in a low voice, not to disturb Lily.
"Fair enough." James cocked his head and sat down on the bench, splitting at least 6 eggs onto his plate.

Crossing each other's path on their way to different lessons, of course James was going to try and compliment Lily.
"Evans! Looking nice today!" He said as she kept on walking.
"Not interested, Potter!" She shouted back at him, firing a spell backwards. It hit James, throwing him back in to Sirius and the both landed on the floor. Lily chuckled to herself and went on her way.
"Eh, you tried." Sirius said, pulling James up from the floor as they both set off to transfiguration.

In divination, where Lily and Remus were, professor Trelawney drowned on about 'looking into the future' or something like that- they weren't really listening.
"So Lily," Remus started, leaning over the table to Lily.
"What- oh! Yes Remus?" She slipped on her hand, making her head almost hit the table.
"How is it working with James?" He asked, even though he knew exactly what answer he was going to get.
"Don't get me started." She began "He's just constantly asking me out! Like what's with that? Actually, he was quite good, he told a couple of kids off for things I thought he encouraged."
"He's maturing, Lily."
"I don't know Remus, he still seems... I don't know." She sighed.
"Just try and give him a chance Lily." He pleaded.
"I'll think about it. Did, by any chance, Potter tell you to say any of this?" She knew he probably would of.
"He told me that 'every time I mention his abs I get a chocolate frog'." We both laughed.
"What abs?" She joked "Oh and tell him you mentioned them 4 times." She winked at him, still giggling.
"Thanks." He said to her. Lily thought that Remus was the more... lets say more 'like her' marauder. No romantic feelings (duh) but it was just mutual friends between them.
When they had left divination, which seemed to last forever, someone who Lily did not have time to speak to showed up.
"Lily! Lily! Please wait!" A tall black, greasy haired boy was running towards Lily, trying to catch up with her, because she started to walk faster.
"No! I don't need to speak to you Se- Snape. Now go away. I bet you don't have time for 'mudbloods' like me." She sniggered, as he kept on pleading.
"You don't understand-" he began.
"Oi! Snivellus! Beat it! She obviously doesn't want to talk to you." It was James. Wait, was James defending her?
"That's none of your business, Potter." He snarled at James.
