Lily could tell that James was nervous. He couldn't keep his hands off of his hair and he was digging his heels into the ground. Lily had examined most of these little things, and knew he was extremely nervous. It was the last Quidditch match he would ever play at Hogwarts, and he would have wanted to win it.
She ran her hands through her hair, exhausted from the heat. They must be boiling in their Quidditch uniforms. She thought.
The Gryffindor team walked out onto the pitch, and Lily immediately spotted James at the front, looking all hot and flustered.
He spotted her in the crowd, smiling at her, trying to look as confident as possible. Even though she was a good half a mile away from him, she looked him in the eyes and mouthed 'I love you' and gave him a reassuring smile as he mouthed 'I love you too'.
He was going to win this game.

"And James Potter has caught the snitch! Gryffindor wins!"
James held the golden snitch above his head proudly, they had won. And he couldn't stop smiling.
Lily squealed, quite loudly I might add, when she heard James' name get mentioned. She pushed past everyone trying to get down to the pitch as quickly as she could. She rushed down the stairs so fast I'm surprised that people could actually see her moving.
She made her way onto the pitch and searched frantically for James. She then saw him holding the snitch up and grinning like an idiot. He spotted her rushing towards him and lowered his arms.
She sprinted up to him and jumped on him (literally), kissing him full on the mouth. He swung her round and they could faintly hear cheers and clapping behind them as they kissed. They both smiled through the kiss, each one happier than the other that Gryffindor had won.
When they finally broke apart from each other, Lily was panting furiously, from the running and the kissing.
"You won." she breathed, her arms still around his neck and her feet still not touching the floor.
"We won."

Walking down by the black lake, swinging their arms, hand in hand, they were in silence.
It was their last week at Hogwarts.
It was funny for them to think that in not even a month, they would never come back to the place where they grew up; the place they could call home.
"Knock knock." James said, breaking the silence by one of his ridiculous jokes that he knew Lily loved.
"Go on, who's there?" She smiled.
"Marry,"
"Marry who?"
"Marry me."
Before she could even begin to think, James had stopped her in her tracks, getting down on one knee in front of her. He pulled out a small velvet box from his back pocket and opened it in front of her. She clapped her hands over her mouth, tears welling up in her eyes. Was he actually doing it?! She had dreamed of the moment for so long...
"Lillian Marie Evans, ever since I laid eyes on you, I knew you were the one. You never fail to make me smile, after all those years of hating me, I'm so glad that you finally gave me a chance. Slowly and steadily, I began to fall in love with you. Lily Evans, will you marry me?"
"Yes." She replied without a moment of hesitation, he rose from his feet and kissed her- hard and long. People near by had been watching and were now clapping and smiling. They both pulled apart, and James slipped the diamond ring onto Lily's finger.
"I love you so much." She blurted out and chuckled, happy tears trickling down her face.
"I love you so much too." He replied. She whipped his glasses from his face, flinging her arms around his neck and kissing him with everything she had. Because he was everything to her.

"James Potter? A letter has arrived from the Ministry for you." A small boy walked up to James and handed him a sealed envelope, before scurrying off.
"What is it?" Lily leant her head on his shoulder, asking him nervously, as he slid the letter out of the envelope.
"I don't know." He replied, unfolding the letter.
Dear Mr. J. Potter,
I have the upmost sorrow to inform you that your parents were attacked by death eaters at 1:38am this morning. And I have to tell you that they both lost their lives.
I am truly sorry for your loss,
The Minister of Magic

"Its just left us now."
"What are we going to do?"
"I'll stay with you forever."
"Promise?"
"I promise."
They were left to create history.
Evans and Potter.
