What is this monstrosity of an edit😂
Lily, obviously, was in the library, having some quiet time to herself. Ambivalently flicking through the pages of her transfiguration book, reading a couple of words then turning the page again.
"Hullo." James sat down next to her, with a 5 year olds sulky face on.
Lily looked up from her book "Hello, James. Something on your mind?"
"Nope. Just the marauders being idiots." he slumped onto the table, leaning on his hand. "Whatcha readin'?" He asked, pretty clear he wasn't that interested.
"Oh, just flicking through my transfiguration text book. Nothing special." She aimlessly flicked another page with her finger.
"If it's 'nothing special' can you quit the studying and take a walk with me? Please?" He pleaded.
"Well I guess it would take my mind off things... sure." She slammed her book shut, standing up "Well come on then!" She gestured towards the door. He smiled and approached the door.

They were happily strolling along the bank of the black lake, talking. Just talking.
"So, Lily. Halloween is coming up and there is a Hogsmeade trip coming up and-" he couldn't finish his sentence because Lily had covered his mouth with her hand and dragged him behind a bush.
"Shhhhh!" She put her finger on her lips, then peering through the bush.
"Of you don't mind me asking, what are we 'shhhhing' for?" He whispered, slightly confused as to why they were crouching behind a bush.
"Marlene's over there with Black. What do you think they are doing?" She whispered. Lily knew that Marlene has had a huge crush on him for ages, and she was so excited for her best friend for finally talking to him. Like, on his own. She was that confident girl, she would talk to him, but never in private.
"Well he's had an enormous crush on her for ages and- oh sh*t." he slapped his hand across his mouth, after he, quite obviously, spilled his friends secret.
"No way! Marlene has had a crush on him too!" They both smiled at each other.
"Are they... snogging?" James' eyes widened as he watched Marlene and Sirius become disturbingly close to each other.
"I think they are!" Lily squealed, quietly clapping her hands together.
"We're going over." He smiled, grabbing her wrist.
"We are."
They crept up behind the bench and popped up on the back, leaning on the wood.
"So having fun?" They both said in chorus, tilting their heads.
The couple broke apart, both flushing the most deep shade of red you could possibly imagine.
"PRONGS!" Sirius growled.
"OH MY GOSH LILY!" Marlene looked at Lily fiercely. Lily wasn't intimated though, an even wider smile just plastered her face. "I am so gonna get you!" Marlene jumped off the bench, but Lily was faster, she was already sprinting up to the castle.
"Wow, she's fast..." James watched Lily run up to the castle, her fiery red hair waving behind her.
"Gahhh!" Sirius lunged himself towards James but he dodged it.
"Nice one, Padfoot. I'm happy for you." James smirked.
"Not when you ruin the moment!" Sirius growled again, playfully chasing his best friend up to the castle.
